“Maybe She Thinks I’m Too Old” — The Beautiful Love Story of George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin

George Timothy Clooney was born in 1961, while Amal Ramzi Alam Uddin was born in 1978, 17 years later. He is an actor and a recognized Hollywood star, she a prestigious lawyer. He is American, she is Anglo-Lebanese. This is how the love story of this famous couple begins to be written, who could not and even wanted to go against Cupid, when one of his arrows hit the target.

It was July 2013 and fate took care of putting George Clooney in the path of Amal Alamuddin, in the always romantic Italy, on Lake Como. He remembers seeing her and thinking, “She IS a beautiful, fun, and obviously smart woman. However, she possibly thinks I’m already too old.” After that meeting, they began exchanging emails.

In October of the same year, while the love grew in the distance, George and Amal were together in London, then spent Christmas in Cabo São Lucas and, in the sequence, Kenya would be the destination of the two who, inevitably, were already more than good friends. The actor said in an interview: “There was a picture of her, looking back, smiling at the giraffes. So I said to myself, ‘I think I’m going to ask her to marry me.’

On April 28, 2014, Clooney prepared dinner, nothing out of this world, a simple pasta, and asked Amal to get the lighter to light the candles, but in its place was an engagement ring. With music in the background, he knelt before his beloved.

Twenty minutes later, when she had recovered from the shock, she accepted the request. So George remembered that moment: “My only doubt was that she might think it was too soon. But there was no doubt that we were the perfect couple and made a great team. And we were a team from the beginning. We immediately felt happy, and have been ever since.”

In September 2014, talented actor George Clooney married successful lawyer Amal Alamuddi. He at 53, she at 36. The place couldn’t be other than magical Venice, but as her parents couldn’t attend the ceremony, a month later they got married again, this time in London. She had to get used to fame, and he to married life.

But apparently, luck multiplies, in 2017 they became parents and, on top of that, two children. The Clooney family arrived on June 6th, the twins Alexander and Ella. “It was amazing, everything is very subjective until it becomes real. Suddenly, I said, ‘My God! I’m a father now!’” commented the famous actor.

Amal, who adopted the Clooney surname after marriage, showed how happy she was with her husband in an interview with Time magazine; “The wedding was wonderful. I have a partner in my husband who is incredibly inspiring and supportive, and we have a home full of love and smiles,” she said at the time.

The lawyer continued: “It is a joy far beyond what I could have imagined. I feel very lucky to have found the great love of my life and to be a mother. That’s how I get my balance.”

More than seven years have passed since their wedding day, and the Clooneys are solid and stable. They live quite privately: no social media and no pictures of their children. However, whenever they appear on the red carpet, a flash of love overshadows the flashes, and then we understand that for Cupid, age is just another number.
