Love has a limit and it is called dignity

Love comes and goes, but dignity is within each person and will always shine, because it is not worth losing it for anyone.

Love will always have a limit and that is dignity. Because that respect that each of us has for ourselves has a very high price and will never accept discounts with which to satisfy a love that does not fulfill, that hurts and violates.

Pablo Neruda said that love is short and oblivion is very long. Now, in between there is always that “firefly light” that lights up naturally on dark nights to show us where the limit is, to remind us that A long oblivion is better than a long torment in which we end up selling our dignity.

Sometimes, there is no choice but to forget what one feels to remember what we are worth. Because dignity should not be lost for anyone, because love is not begged or begged and, although love should never be lost out of pride, dignity should not be lost out of love either.

Believe it or not, Dignity is that fragile and delicate thread that we so often compromise.which can break to the point of unraveling the bonds of our emotional relationships.

There are many occasions in which we cross that border without wanting to until we allow ourselves to be carried away by extremes in which our moral limits become weak, we think that for love everything is worth it and that any renunciation is little. Because love and dignity are two currents in a turbulent oceanin which even the most experienced sailor can lose his way.

The pride and dignity of self-love

It is often said that pride is fueled by the ego and dignity by the spirit.. Be that as it may, these two psychological dimensions are two daily inhabitants on the complex islands of emotional relationships and that, at times, are often confused.

Pride, for example, is a well-known enemy that is usually associated with self-love. However, it goes one step further, because Pride is an architect specialized in raising walls and weaving barbed wire in our relationships., in seasoning every detail with arrogance and in penetrating victimhood into every word. Although under all these destructive acts, what is actually masked is low self-esteem.

For its part, dignity is just the opposite. Act listening at all times to the voice of our “I” to strengthen the most beautiful thing about the human being, such as self-respect, without forgetting respect for others. Here the concept of self-love acquires its maximum meaning because it is nourished by it to protect oneself without harming others: without causing “collateral” effects, but validating one’s own self-esteem at all times.

Dignity has a very high price

Dignity is not sold, nor lost, nor given away. Because a defeat in time will always be more worthy than a victory if we manage to emerge “whole” from that battle, with our faces held high, our hearts whole, and a sadness that will end up disinfecting the years and renewed hopes.

People often think that there is nothing worse than being abandoned by someone we love. It is not like that, the most destructive thing is to lose oneself by loving someone who does not love us.

In healthy and dignified love there is no room for martyrdom or resignation., those in which we tell ourselves that anything goes as long as we are next to the loved one. Because, in reality, where we position ourselves is in its shadow, there where there will be no more sunny days for our hearts or breath for our hopes.

To avoid falling into these turbulent emotional currents, It is worth reflecting on the following questions which, without a doubt, can help us:

In relationships, sacrifices have boundaries to mark

We are not obliged to respond to all of the couple’s problems, to offer him or her air every time he or she breathes, or to have to turn off your light so that he or she can shine. Remember where the real limit is: in your dignity.

Love is felt, touched and created every day

If we do not perceive any of this, there will be no point in asking for it, much less sitting around waiting for a miracle to happen that makes no sense. Assuming that we are no longer loved is an act of courage and that will prevent us from leading into situations that are as delicate as they are destructive.

Love should never be blind

No matter how much this idea is defended, It will always be better to offer yourself to someone with your eyes wide open, your heart on fire and your dignity very high.. Only then will we be authentic artisans of those relationships that are worthwhile, where we respect and be respected, where we create a healthy scenario every day where “anything goes”, without power games or irrational sacrifices.

Dignity is and will always be the recognition that we are worthy of better things.lonelinessDon’t allow it, don’t lose your dignity for anyone. You might be interested…
