Lisa Kudrow and Michel Stern’s 26-Year Union Has a Perfectly Imperfect Love Story

Lisa Kudrow has been putting a smile on our faces since the first episode of Friends aired. And even though we were a little sad about her love life on the show, we couldn’t imagine how happy and fulfilled she felt about her off-screen romance. Lisa’s wedding is real proof that fate has a strange way of bringing people together, especially when it comes to her better half.

we, from awesome.club, we would like to talk about Lisa Kudrow’s union with her husband, Michel. So keep scrolling for a glimpse into the relationship of one of Hollywood’s happiest couples.

When one door closes, another always opens.

Lisa Kudrow was born in California. Unlike her character on the hit sitcom, Lisa is pretty smart: she studied biology and worked with her father — a world-famous headache specialist — for eight years.

Her brother’s childhood friend convinced her to give acting a try, and decades later, after being fired from the set of a TV show and rejected in roles after auditioning, she became one of the biggest names in Hollywood. His dedication, his hope and his talent earned him the audition of a lifetime, the rest is history.

It was love at first sight — but she kept her cool

This was in the 1980s when Lisa first saw Michel. The handsome French advertising executive was dating his French roommate at the time. Lisa fell in love with his charm, but kept it to herself, admiring him whenever he showed up to meet his then-girlfriend.

Lisa was afraid that people would realize that she liked him. She used to get nervous and act strange, to the point of saying hi to him again and quickly leaving the room whenever he came to pick up her roommate. She impressed him considerably, even though he thought she was weird. But politeness prevailed in these situations, and she did her best to remain calm around him.

They were reunited and never parted again.

After some time, the roommate and Michel ended their relationship. Six years later, Lisa bumped into her crush at a birthday party. The two were still friends at the time, but turned their friendship into a remarkable romance. She said: “I thought it wasn’t cool to flirt. But the next minute I thought, ‘Well, that’s it, there he is.’

They built a beautiful family

The two were married on May 27, 1995, in Malibu, California. The ceremony was private and we don’t have much information about the event. But we imagine it must have been the best day of their lives.

The couple’s son, Julian Murray, was born three years later. He also appeared on Friends in the 4th season of the series, as Lisa was already pregnant with him. As a result, the show’s writers turned Phoebe into a surrogate for her brother Frank and his wife Alice.

Commitment is what worked

We have to admit that falling in love and getting married is easy, but committing to your partner and working through the difficulties are crucial actions to make your marriage work. Lisa seemed to know the recipe from the start because, according to her, you can’t promise to love someone forever, but you can promise to work through whatever problems arise. The real deal is to commit to making the marriage work because, after creating a story with each other, it becomes a bond, it’s not just a simple passion.

The actress also shared in an interview that independence is the key to a great marriage. She advised couples to maintain their independence, as the two did. They respect each other’s individuality, they have their own goals and achievements, but they know they are on the same team.

The 26-year marriage certainly had its ups and downs, but their commitment to each other made it all right. The iconic TV star and her husband are the types of people that others really want advice from about their own friendships, their love and their life.

Bonus: Lisa’s story on Friends also had a happy ending on the show

Phoebe Buffay (Lisa) has had an interesting love life. Her first marriage was to a Canadian skater who needed a green card. She then had a brief affair in Las Vegas, which turned into an unexpected marriage, which, according to Phoebe, doesn’t count because “if you get married in Vegas, you only get married in Vegas.”

The beautiful blonde finally found love when she married Mike. We could see the affection and respect they had for each other and the mutual desire to have children. On the other hand, Lisa’s fate didn’t stray too far from her character life. Although the charming actress has not been married three times, she has certainly found her soulmate and started her own family.
