Let’s build a life together and we’ll be happy for a lifetime

I want a life with you. I want to fast-forward to this part. I don’t want our worlds to collide just over messages or touching your face just through a computer screen, imagining the softness of your hair under my fingers.

No, I want our universes to be so confused, so intricately entwined that you won’t be an option when sleep finds me.

I want a life with you, a house with you, a bed and the same four walls. I want to touch my lips to yours every morning before I go to work, knowing that we’ll be together when the night comes. I want to take my shoes off so you can massage them and hear me talk about my day, my horrible boss and rude customers and say all the right things at the right time, just like you always do.

I want to watch late-night shows with you, and then talk about how we would survive a zombie apocalypse, for you to laugh at my terrible survival instinct before pulling me into your chest and telling me, “I would be with you.”

Because you always were.

I want to build apartment furniture with you and discuss the stupid instructions before I burst into laughter and open the wine. I want to feel your hand on my back as we have our first home meeting, each of us talking to our friends, but always looking at each other with a smile, knowing we made it.

So please, let’s skip this part, go fast forward, let’s build our life together. I want us to talk about chores, what we need from the market, and what family events we need to attend this month.

I want the little pleasure in a simple life with you, because my love, no day is common with you, no day will need anything but your existence, your smile, your soft touch.
