If there’s one thing no woman deserves, it’s having upper lip hair. They don’t do any harm to health, but they cause a lot of insecurity for those who suffer from this problem.
These hairs can arise due to genetic influence, an increase in the levels of the male hormone (testosterone) or a decrease in the rates of female hormones.
Whatever the origin of the problem, those who tend to have upper lip hair are always worrying about removing them – after all, most women tend to find it quite unpleasant to go around sporting a “little mustache”.
You probably already know the methods of hair removal with tweezers and waxes, which are quite painful; depilatory creams, which cause a lot of allergies, and laser removal, which may be out of your budget.
Fortunately, there is one more alternative to removing upper lip hair: it’s the egg white technique, which you can do at home.
It’s simple and easy to apply – and best of all, in addition to removing hair, it helps slow the rate of hair growth over time.
How to apply the egg white technique
The ingredients to apply the egg technique are pretty easy, and you probably already have them all in your kitchen:
- 1 egg white
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon of corn starch
Add the sugar and cornstarch to the egg white and mix well to form a paste. Apply the product to the upper lip area and let it dry for an hour.
When the paste is dry, it will form a kind of thin mask. Then, simply pull the mask firmly in the direction of hair growth.
How does this technique work?
Egg white is an excellent ingredient for face masks and can be used to tone and firm the skin.
This ingredient helps to control the oiliness of the skin by reducing the diameter of the pores, decreasing the secretion of oil. In addition, egg whites contain an enzyme called lysozyme, which fights the bacteria that cause pimples.
When used in a face mask, egg white forms a thin, sticky layer that removes hairs from the root, making them go a long time without showing their faces.
The sugar, in turn, makes the mask even more sticky, while the cornstarch gives the product consistency, making it easier to apply.
It is worth remembering that, regardless of the method you use to shave your mustache, it is necessary to reinforce the use of sunscreen in the region. As the skin will be more sensitive, unprotected exposure can cause dark spots that are difficult to remove.
And be aware: an increase in the amount of hair on the upper lip can indicate a hormonal imbalance, and it is recommended to consult a doctor.
