Know what to do after squeezing a pimple –

None dermatologist will encourage you to press the point with pus that appeared overnight on your chin, but we know that, sometimes, the temptation is so great that there is no way to remember the medical indications. So there you are, squeezing your skin in front of the mirror until it erupts. It happens.

Okay, but now what? The first step after attacking the spine is to stop. That’s right! After the initial slip, control yourself and make an effort not to continue touching the area. “Clean the area with a damp cotton pad and wash your face then”, instructs Claudio Wulkan, dermatologist of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology.

It is also worth making a cold compress to reduce swelling and redness in the region. The specialist also advises to avoid as much as possible running your fingers through the inflamed area to prevent possible contamination. And if you have any anti-acne ointment at home, use it over the breakout. Its main compound, benzoyl peroxide, helps to control inflammation and prevents bacteria from proliferating in the deeper layers of the skin. Then just wait for it to heal.

In the meantime, makeup is off the hook, so you don’t have to worry about walking around in fear that everyone will notice the battle you’ve fought with the reddish dot. Liquid Paper or base can be used to disguise the pimple – as long as the lesion is not open. Tip: the green color corrector is perfect for covering the red color of the inflamed spot.

But beware: just because you now know how to deal with the problem doesn’t mean that squeezing pimples should be part of your routine, huh? Be smart and don’t make the same mistake two, three, four or five times – or you’ll end up with a hard-to-remove mark.
