It’s okay to be sad sometimes, it’s okay to be broken from time to time

It’s okay to be sad sometimes, it’s okay to be broken from time to time. It is not necessary for us to be the happy people that everyone wants, nor those who always smile and want to talk to others.

It is valid that we let the heart cry until it is dry. It’s human, it’s real. The opposite is due to the tyranny of excessive optimism, it promotes emotional repression, the confinement of oneself, the kidnapping of our experiences.

Embrace life, be aware that our negative emotions do not have to be, by definition, unhealthy. That sadness, anger and frustration help us walk, to face what hurts us, to search for our sense of reality.

The importance of validating life

What was written above defines life, normality. NNeither everything is rosy nor does everything make us feel great and keep a smile on our faces. It is important to influence this aspect, educate our thoughts and behaviors in conjunction with our emotions.

Those days when we can’t get out of bed, when everything is too big for us and it seems that the path we have paved begins to sink, those days are fantastic for reflecting and not breaking down and not letting our demons grow.

It is essential that we realize that breaking up is a right and part of the process. A stage of each of those “micro-duels” necessary to elaborate and recompose the world to our liking. Manifestations that, on the other hand, tell us that we are alive, that it is not good for us to continue on that side or that there is something that is changing.

Thus, the psychological depth by which bad moments are characterized automatically results in changes in thoughts, emotions and behaviors. It will depend on how we manage the discomfort, that is, the permission we give ourselves, that we can release a large part of the burden that imprisons us.

In this sense, it is good to bring up the process of shedding snake skin. When the snake has to shed its old skin, it chooses to walk over two nearby stones that squeeze, scratch and help it remove its skin. This transit causes pain, but it helps you get rid of the old to make room for the new.

It is the end of one process and the beginning of another. And, in that transition, we inevitably suffer. If we resist going through it, the anguish increases, because we do not let go of what no longer contributes to us, what we do not need, nor do we give space to what wants to be born. Liberation comes, therefore, from the learning that underlies that break.

Feeling that our interior is cracking makes us ask ourselves questions that we did not even consider before. This is one of the great benefits, which we can only appreciate if we embrace the presence of “the demons” that torment us day after day because of the bad concept we have of them.

Thus, it is curious how we undress when it is coldest, how we tear our clothes in our search for a happiness that never comes because, in itself, we have poorly conceptualized it. We are extremes and, therefore, we allow ourselves nothing but scorching fire and intense cold. Therein lies the problem.

If we embrace our emotions and shake hands with them through thoughts and behaviors, we will make a decision that will base our growth throughout our lives. What decision? That of respecting ourselves, learning about ourselves and continuing to walk with the right footwear whatever the path.
