Now, why would a liar say something like that? Because he feels guilty. He knows what he’s doing is wrong, so instead of doing the right thing, he just says something like that to make you feel like he adores you.

#7 He avoids the topic at hand. Guilt is a strong emotion. And facing her is a scary thing. So if you ask him about that girl at work, where he was the other night, or why there’s money missing from their joint account, he’ll change the subject ASAP.
