If you are looking for a food that fills you up easily, this is a good choice. Agar-agar fibers also have the power to postpone hunger, which helps you consume fewer calories throughout the day and thus lose weight. Other advantages: like all seaweed, it has neither fat nor carbohydrates and, therefore, is not fattening – that is, depending on the preparation. With a neutral flavor, it is a traditional ingredient in oriental cuisine in savory and sweet dishes. Here, this seaweed is often used to replace industrialized gelatin. Just dilute a spoon (tea) of agar-agar powder (it can also be found in the form of threads) in a cup (tea) of orange juice (or other fruit of your choice) and add drops of sweetener (if you want) . Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Put it in a bowl and leave it in the fridge until it hardens. Makes a refreshing, healthy and light dessert.
