“I’m going to get it right this time”: Nicolas Cage broke up four times, but he didn’t give up on finding his love

Cage met his first wife, Patricia Arquette, at a restaurant in 1987 and immediately asked her to marry him. Arquette, then 19 years old, turned down the proposal, but Cage didn’t take no for an answer and proposed that the actress make a list of things he must fulfill in order to marry her.

They started dating for a while, but ended up breaking up because the relationship was going too fast for Arquette. Years later, in 1995, she called Cage and told him that she was finally ready to get married. However, the marriage did not last long and they divorced in 2001.

Their relationship was not perfect. Got into an unfortunate pattern of splitting and coming back, but still, somehow, the relationship became more serious.

Presley and Cage were married in August 2002, but decided to divorce three months later. The divorce was finalized in May 2004.

At age 40, Cage married 19-year-old Alice Kim just two months after they met. The wedding took place quickly so that she could travel with him to the set of Lord of Arms and, of course, because they were in love.

The actor’s future mother-in-law did not approve of the marriage, because Kim was 21 years younger than Cage. But the star ended up conquering her. A year later, Kim and Cage welcomed their son, Kal-El.

Cage and Kim’s 12-year marriage has come to an end and the actor, aged 54, was single again. However, the two remained friends and she even attended the star’s fifth wedding.

Cage and makeup artist Erika Koike dated for a year before getting married in 2019 in Las Vegas. but the actor realized he made a mistake and, just four days later, asked for annulment.

Cage and his wife Riko Shibata, 31 years his junior, met through mutual friends in Japan while Cage was filming Ghostland. Cage’s four previous marriages that ended in divorce haven’t stopped him from giving love another chance, and he proposed to Shibata via FaceTime, while the girl was in the “Land of the Rising Sun”🇧🇷 She said “I do” and they got married in an intimate ceremony in February 2021.

In an interview, Cage revealed that his wife, Shibata, is his biggest crush. “I know five is a lot, but I think I got it right this time.”
