If you neglect your love, you could end up losing it.

We started and were happy for a long time like few couples. They said we were born to be together. I confess that for months I believed this. But it seems that afterwards, something was lost. Something broke. went off. And I don’t know where I went wrong anymore, I don’t know what I could have done differently… Now whatever, it seems that you’ve fulfilled your mission in my life. That I’ve learned my lesson.

I don’t know, it seems that at some point suffering makes you smarter, can you understand? It is as if tears were dictionaries, entire encyclopedias, which, as they disappear, make certain information visible. Imagine what would not be on display if the oceans dried up? Okay, fish and millions of other living things would die, but that’s not the point – imagine how many ships wouldn’t have stories to tell if they could be seen again after the sea dried up?

After the first phase, after the first impact, after the first few breathless seconds since you left, I was able to understand, accept and even have more plausible arguments to refuse certain things. Certain actions of yours. I hurt too much. I think that in love, in games and even in friendships, there needs to be a middle ground. As much as they say out there that we don’t have to focus on the return, that’s what warms our heart. They are small gestures, small demonstrations of reciprocity, of love, they are small samples of – hey, I’m here for you, see? Forget not.

We forget. As the days go by inside a love, we end up forgetting to value the little things. It is that everything has already been conquered. All the land is already ours. There are no more battles, there are no more areas to explore… This is how we start saying goodbye without noticing: we leave when we think we have all of them and a few more reasons to stay because everything there is ours. But anything, anything at all, without maintenance, falls. Teeth rot, plants wither, buildings crumble and love ends.
