How to make rice: learn an easy way that leaves the rice loose

Rice is a daily staple, an accompaniment that goes with several dishes, and is present on the Brazilian table in practically every meal.

It can be served from the trivial rice and beans to different and more elaborate ways.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup and ½ of water
  • ½ onion and 1 garlic clove (optional)

Step by step:

  1. Put the oil in the pan over low heat;
  2. Add the onion and garlic, if you want it to be more seasoned;
  3. Add the dry rice, unwashed, and mix in the salt;
  4. Stir well for about 2 minutes;
  5. Pour the water and leave uncovered with the high fire;
  6. When it starts to boil, cover and leave on low heat;
  7. After about 20 minutes, taste it and, if it’s still a little hard, add another ½ cup of water;
  8. When dry, turn off the heat, cover well and leave for 10 to 15 minutes;
  9. Then just pass the fork to loosen a little more and serve.

This amount serves three to four people. An important tip is not to stir the rice after adding water, as this hurts the grains and causes them to release starch, which makes them stick together. It is also important not to move away from the stove, as there is a risk of burning.

Rice In Pressure Cooker

Just wash the rice in a sieve, put oil and chopped onion in the pressure cooker until golden, pour the rice, sauté briefly, add salt and water, mix and cover. Place one cup of parboiled rice, two cups of boiling water and salt to taste in a ceramic container leaving a space free because the water will boil. Rice in the crock pot
