After a busy day, there’s nothing like getting home so you can rest and/or be with your family! But an even better feeling than this is opening the door and feeling that clean house smell, seeing everything tidy in its place…
But, of course, this is not always the case. Sometimes an object or another ends up getting out of place; you notice that that window in the living room or that furniture in the bedroom has gathered some dust…
After all, as much as the person does almost daily maintenance in the rooms, at one time or another, the house requires a more thorough cleaning.
And there’s no way to escape: you need to hire someone (or even a specialized company) to do this service or set aside a few minutes of your day for it!
Juliana Bellini, director of operations at Clear Clean, explains below how to do a thorough cleaning in the main rooms of the house. It’s worth checking out the guidelines!
Step by step to clean the room
- Arrange or, if necessary, change bedding.
- After this task, it is important to divide the cleaning into parts: in the window, start by cleaning the frames. With a vacuum cleaner remove the accumulation of dust between the cracks.
- Then use the cloth dampened with general purpose cleaner and wipe the entire frame from top to bottom.
- The next step is cleaning the glass. Use a cloth dampened with general purpose cleaner and clean the entire surface from the outside and inside.
- So that the glass is not stained, wipe it with a dry cloth after using the damp cloth.
- Remove dust from all furniture and objects, moving them around and cleaning all parts: top, sides, back and bottom.
- Also remember to dust the baseboard, sockets and switches.
- Finally, remove dust from the floor. Preferably, use the vacuum cleaner and pass the cloth dampened with general purpose cleaner.
Step by step to clean the bathroom
- Before you start cleaning the bathroom, remove towels, rugs, trash and objects.
- Start cleaning in the bathroom area: first rub the tiles and shower tray using a sponge with detergent to remove the accumulated grease.
- Then clean the bathroom floor.
- Sanitize the toilet with disinfectant and brush/sponge only for this purpose. (Do not use the same sponge or cloth to clean other places, avoiding bacterial contamination).
- Clean cabinets, objects, mirrors with a cloth dampened with general purpose cleaner.
- On the mirror, pass a dry cloth after the damp one to avoid staining.
- Clean the entire bathroom area floor.
- Put everything back in its place (trash can, rugs, etc.).

Step-by-step guide to cleaning the kitchen
- Start cleaning the kitchen with the dishes. First wash and rinse all items.
- Dry all dishes and put each item in its place.
- Clean the window and glass with a cloth dampened with general cleaner.
- Then, wipe the glass with a dry cloth to avoid stains.
- Clean cabinets using sponge/cloth with neutral detergent. If necessary, rinse the cloth and wipe it more than once to remove the buildup of product residue.
- Then do the detailed cleaning of appliances: stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator.
- Clean the kitchen floor, first removing the dirt with a vacuum cleaner.
- Then mop the floor.
- To finish, pass the damp cloth.
Essential products for a good cleaning
Juliana cites the main products that cannot be missed when doing a thorough cleaning at home:
- General/multipurpose cleaner: facilitates cleaning because it is used on various surfaces.
- Disinfectant: cleaning the toilet prevents contamination that can cause disease.
- Detergent/degreaser: breaks down fat molecules facilitating the removal of dirt.
Juliana adds that there are specific and multipurpose products from different brands that can be used to clean different surfaces. “Such products can be found in supermarkets in general and give a good result”, she says.
“It is also possible to use a solution of 1 tablespoon of neutral detergent diluted in a bucket with 5 liters of water. This solution facilitates the cleaning of the porcelain and enhances the shine. But we advise people to always carefully read the specifications and recommendations of the suppliers/manufacturer, thus avoiding possible damages, such as stains”, highlights Juliana.
“However, we at Clear Clean work with specific biodegradable products aimed at each surface, where we obtain a much higher yield and revitalize the shine with each cleaning”, he adds, remembering that hiring a specific company can be a good way when time is short. to do a “deeper” cleaning at home.
Tips to help with cleaning
1. Before you start cleaning, gather all the material you are going to use, such as a broom, vacuum cleaner, cloths, disinfectants, etc. Leave them leaning against a wall, behind a door, or anywhere they won’t get in the way. This speeds up the service, because if you have to leave the room you are cleaning all the time to get a certain product, you run the risk of losing focus on cleaning.
2. If possible, enlist the help of your husband, or child, or someone in your family to clean. You must divide the tasks in advance, for example, so that each one is responsible for a room in the house.
3. Put on a sound to accompany your cleaning. This will make the time go by much faster and the service will automatically become much more pleasant.
Did you like the guidelines?! The goal is to help you make your home even cleaner and more comfortable, without great sacrifices! After all, with good tips and, above all, being well organized, it is possible to do a thorough and neat cleaning without spending so much time!
