Plastered liposculpture: the technique that reduces localized fat and cellulite

Unlike what the name might suggest, plastered liposculpture does not use plaster or anything like that. Exclusively promoted by Bothanica Mineral®, it is a technique that consists of the application of genuinely orthomolecular products.

“The word “plastered” refers to immobilization and light compression at the treatment site, because the patient is subjected to several cosmetic steps and, in one of the steps, green clay is placed with the input called LEORT (formula also known as Nontoxic Pyridine Carboxyl Acid Methyl Ester) for a period of 30 minutes to 1 hour. Thus, the place is hard as if it were in a cast”, explains Stefanne Holanda, dermatofunctional physiotherapist and owner of Stefanne Holanda clinic, in Teresina, Piauí.

LEORT is, in fact, a special pharmaceutical preparation, with a formula kept under lock and key, protected until 2025 and, it does not have a generic, similar product and cannot be manipulated in specialized pharmacies.

The orthomolecular products used in plastered liposculpture promise to offer the body what it needs, thus performing detoxification from the inside out. But, what does this mean exactly? What are the benefits? Below you will clarify these and other doubts about the procedure.

What are the functions of plastered liposculpture?

Plastered liposculpture can offer numerous benefits to the patient’s beauty. Below, the dermatofunctional physiotherapist explains what her functions are:

  • Detoxification and better tissue oxygenation
  • cell regeneration
  • body shaping
  • Localized fat reduction
  • Improved lymphatic drainage of the body
  • Prevention against premature aging, as it promotes a kind of “scavenging of free radicals”

So, in general, the technique is very suitable especially to treat cellulite in all degrees and localized fat, explains Stefanne.

It is worth emphasizing, however, that like other treatments, plastered liposculpture does not work miracles and will not make any patient lose weight. For really significant results in this sense, the ideal is to have nutritional monitoring.

How does plaster liposculpture work?

Stefanne explains the procedure step by step:

  1. Initially, an exfoliation is performed for better absorption in the areas where the technique will be performed.
  2. Subsequently, orthomolecular products are applied: amino acids, vitamins, trace elements, phytotherapics, proteins and minerals. “This is to promote a quick and efficient result, because, as they are actives compatible with what we have in our body, their acceptance will be much greater than in the case of a common cosmetic”, explains Stefanne.
  3. Finally, the green clay is placed with LEORT for a period of 30 minutes to 1 hour. “To keep the bandages more fixed on the skin, a plastic film is usually placed around the treated region”, adds the physical therapist.

It is important to undergo this type of treatment only with professionals qualified for it, who will even indicate the number of sessions needed, evaluating each case in particular.

Stefanne also explains that, depending on the case, it may be indicated to associate liposculpture with techniques, such as, for example, modeling massage, lymphatic drainage, endermotherapy and turbo massage.

Contraindications of plastered liposculpture

As Stefanne highlights, because an active product is used in the treatment, there are some contraindications: pregnant women, lactating women, people with chronic diseases, fever, chronic renal failure, hypertension or decompensated arterial hypotension.

In addition, it is worth reinforcing the need to choose a good professional who will evaluate each patient in particular and can identify other possible contraindications, if applicable.

More questions about plastered liposculpture clarified

Because it is still a novelty for many people, there are several doubts around the procedure. Below you can find the clarification for most of them.

1. How many sessions are recommended for really effective results?

“Each patient responds in a given session. Therefore, it is always good to guide this patient, make a thorough evaluation, evaluate his life habits and be prudent when determining the number of sessions. But, in general, 6 to 10 sessions are needed”, explains Stefanne.

“Remembering that this technique is for healthy patients… If the patient uses more than three medications a day, for example, the result may take longer. It is also essential that the patient knows that this technique is an accelerator of results and an ally, not dispensing with the need for a balanced diet and the practice of physical activities”, adds the physical therapist.

2. Do the results obtained with the plastered liposculpture have good durability?

“The technique can release 500 to 1000 calories per application in the 48 hours after the procedure is applied. Its effect is prolonged and thermogenic. However, as in the case of other aesthetic procedures, if the client does not have a balanced diet and does not practice physical activities, the results obtained will not be durable”, explains Stefanne.

3. What can the patient do to maximize the results of the procedure?

In addition to a balanced diet and physical activity, according to Stefanne, the use of products such as creams and even nutricosmetics is recommended. “It is also customary to indicate anti-inflammatory and detoxifying foods to enhance the results”, she says.

4. What are the most suitable regions of the body to do this procedure?

“The plastered liposculpture is a technique that can be used in any part of the body where there is localized fat, cellulite and flaccidity, such as arms, abdomen, flanks, culottes and thighs. This procedure can be done for both men and women who want to reduce measurements”, explains Stefanne.

5. What is the approximate cost of each session?

Prices vary a lot from clinic to clinic, but, according to the physiotherapist, each session costs an average of R$150.00 to R$300.00.

“It is essential to look for professionals who are specialized and certified in the technique so that the patient has, in fact, the treatment he deserves”, concludes Stefanne.
