Stripes, wood and even fabric can be reproduced on the walls with so-called decorative effects. All you need is ink, patience and unusual objects, such as brushes and sponges. You save money when it comes to giving the house a new look and create results similar to those of wallpaper, which has returned with everything to the decoration scene, but it is still expensive!
Check step by step🇧🇷 You will need…
For wall preparation:
· Acrylic interior paint
· Ink tray
· Sheep wool roller
· masking tape
To make the effect:
· Gel for decorative effect
· Sheep wool roller
ink tray
soft bristle brush
· Thick brush
· Cotton cloth
prepare the wall
With the wool roller, apply two to three coats of paint, respecting the drying interval on the product. Using masking tape, divide the surface into strips no more than 1 meter wide. The linen effect imitates fabric, so the seam reinforces the idea of cloth bands.
Learn how to apply the effect:
1. With the second wool roller, apply a coat of gel for a decorative effect.
2. With the gel still wet, move the brush from top to bottom and from bottom to top*
3. Allow 24 hours for it to dry completely. Then apply another coat of gel
4. Pass the brush, this time horizontally, from left to right and vice versa.*
* Heads up: pass at least once in each direction. The more times you swipe, the clearer the effect will be.
architect tips
· Clean the brush after each application with the cotton cloth.
· In the corners, use a wide brush to apply the gel.
· Read the guidance on the packaging of the products.
· Make a test (paint a piece of the wall) with the chosen color before starting work.
· The gel color should always be darker than the background color to create the desired fabric effect.
