How female characters in video games have changed

When I was a child I loved video games, but I kept wondering why the hero always had to be a boy (like Mario, Link or Megaman).

The women who appeared were often secondary characters who needed someone to save them or simply an ornament.

In the video game Crus’n USA a girl danced for you for winning.

Over time, the developers tried to include us and we were finally able to choose our gender.

However, many times the characters we had to choose from were sexualized. Come on, who would go to war in a bikini?

Fortunately, things have already started to change. The armor we can choose is more realistic and we can also be part of the team. You just need to look at the characters from Overwatch, the best game of 2016:

D.Va

Dr. Angela Ziegler is a brilliant scientist and peace advocate. She decided to join Overwatch to save lives on a larger scale.
