He’s awesome, but it’s not you

Hey. Did you know I met a really nice guy? He calls me “my beautiful” and I even smile, but unlike you, he doesn’t know that I hate being called “my anything”. He pays me a lot of compliments, it’s not like you who call me a ball, boring or any criticism masked as something good.

He insists on my company, prefers to be with me than sleeping after a tiring day at work. He’s also funny, he likes to make me laugh and make me happy. He’s not jealous like you, you know? He agrees with me that a relationship is built on trust, so there’s no point in being possessive.

He understands my PMS, he doesn’t think I’m crazy or that my crying has to have a reason. He spends hours listening to me talk about my family, about the complicated relationship of the strange couple in the series I see and even about the problems of my friend who lives in another country, and he doesn’t complain about a thing.

He doesn’t tell me to shut up when I’m singing, he laughs and looks like he actually enjoys it. Did you know he doesn’t put me aside when we’re with his friends? He holds my hand and seems to be proud to have me by his side, he doesn’t get involved in matters I couldn’t even try to give an opinion on.

His only vices are chocolate and TV shows, can you believe that? He doesn’t let go of my hand to light a cigarette. He also doesn’t have bizarre quirks, nor is he scared of mine. And want to know more? He loves taking pictures with me, not trying to run away. He also doesn’t mind going out with my friends or if I go out alone with them.

But, knowing you as I do, you must be wondering why I’m here wasting my time writing for you and not for him. She must even be making fun of him and finding herself too much, as usual. But the answer is simple and we both know it very well: he’s amazing, but it’s not you.
