Health is the most important?

When we think about health, we normally tend to believe that it is the most important thing to have a full and happy life. and that if we ever lost it, we would inevitably be condemned to have a miserable and meaningless existence.

This belief, so widespread in society, It is really an irrational and false idea, which can cause a lot of suffering to whoever communes with her. Firstly, because it can create in us an obsession with health, beyond the normal concern – or rather, occupation – that we should have about it.

Hypochondriacs think that health is more than important and are so worried about losing it or having lost it, even when there is no evidence or data to prove it, that they become filled with anxiety. to such an extent that they perform one test after another to find out if they are sick, or they endlessly search for information about symptoms, disorders or diseases, falling into a spiral with no exit and increasing their discomfort.

On the other hand, people who believe that loss of health is a passport to unhappiness and misfortune will feel enormously depressed and miserable if the day comes when they lose it. Suffering will be added to your illness because you think that being sick is intolerable and terrible.. In the end they will have two problems for the price of one.

Why isn’t health the most important thing to be happy?

From psychology, we say that It is not external circumstances that are responsible for our happiness or unhappiness, but happiness comes from within. of the person: the person ultimately responsible for your happiness is yourself.

Personally, I think it is great to take care of your body and mind and want to be healthy, but without making a world of it because as we have said before, we will have two problems instead of one.

If in the end, we are all going to die and we do not know when nor do we know under what circumstances. Today I can be perfectly healthy, but tomorrow I can be dead and you can be sick, but live longer than me. This is reality, there are no certainties. Stop worrying!

On the other hand, we have to be aware that Complaining about our health is a big waste of time that can also work against us.. People always make our pain worse when we focus on it all the time, complaining over and over again without reaching any solution. Enough complaining!
