a truly complete library, congratulations… and speaking of books, does anyone know what book the phrase that begins “the devil was bewildered…” from the movie The Raven is (if it exists)?

I congratulate you for this compilation work. However, lovers of Gothic literature, especially Spanish literature, would find some reference to Pilar Pedraza, one of the great writers of the genre, missing.
A pleasure to have crossed this black sector….

This compilation surprised me a lot. However, I miss an incredible author of the genre that I think you have forgotten to include; It is Sheridan Le Fanu who is the author of one of the most beautiful vampire stories I have read like Carmilla’s.
Anyway, very good choice.

It’s inside the library, only as “John Sheridan Le Fanu”, just like his story Carmilla.

I also have the doubt that opened the comments panel… Does anyone know where the phrase that is read in The Raven comes from: The Devil was bewildered, and felt the horror of the hidden truth…”? If so, exists!!

Cortázar wrote a vampire story whose title I don’t know. If any of you know it, it would be interesting to add it to this library, if I find it I will. The only thing I remember is that this story has no waste, worthy of such a complete library. 😉

It is not complete considering the gothic theme, it is missing Anne Rice, the author of The Vampire Chronicles, The Mayfair Witches, and New Vampire Stories.

It is truly unfortunate that there are still people who believe that the term “Gothic” is only to define a person who only dresses in black and has unusual tastes. This subculture goes far beyond simply being a horde of teenagers dressed in black and Victorian clothing and with somewhat retrograde and romantic thoughts.

I could bet that none of those who have commented on this blog have taken the trouble to investigate where the Gothic movement comes from. In fact, “the Gothic movement” is an artistic movement that has its beginnings in the 12th century until the Renaissance and was called that because it was believed to be art created by the Visigoths, an East Germanic people, but in the end one is not born Knowing everything, I really hope that people who read this blog know how to differentiate between goth culture and subculture.

A commendable work of this blog, in making such an exhaustive compilation on the matter. You have helped me get to know some unknown authors. Congratulations.
However, I miss some of George Sand’s stories, such as ‘The Night Washerwomen’ or ‘The Wisps’, among others, which I think could well be included in one of the categories broken down here.
A cordial greeting, and much encouragement to continue with such good dissemination work.
