Good things come to those who know how to wait

Good things come to those who know how to wait, who know the value of patience, that color their fruits with dedication, effort and endurance. And everything that requires temperance from us creates a halo of enthusiasm and enthusiasm around us.

I love those people who know that between “plant and harvest” there is “water and wait”. Because it is vital to redirect ourselves in the face of despair, not to get confused when we encounter the uncertainty of not knowing when everything we want will arrive.

“Everything comes to those who wait”

Remember that spring always comes back

I remember one winter my father needed firewood, so he looked for a dead tree and cut it down. But then, in the spring, he saw with desolation that the withered trunk of that tree sprouted new twigs. My father said:

– I was sure that that tree was dead. He had lost all the leaves in the winter. But it was so cold that the branches broke and fell as if there was not even a shred of life left in the old trunk. But now I notice that life was still alive in that trunk.

And turning to me, he advised me:

– Never forget this lesson. Never cut a tree in winter. Never take a negative decision in adverse weather. Never make important decisions when you are in your worst mood. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. Remember that spring will return.

Everything happens, everything arrives, everything transforms

Every reward will come, because time is responsible for opening the doors of the undesirable, helping us combat anguish and awakening our hope. That is why the time will come when when we wake up our desires will win and good things will come to our lives.

Surely you have heard more than once that “don’t make the mistake of making permanent decisions because of temporary emotions.” This phrase contains the great value of patience, the ability to calm down and take perspective.

Because If we act without waiting for the best moment we are probably throwing stones at our own roof, which will cause our roof to collapse and make it difficult for us to find hope among our own emotional debris.

Work on the patience of knowing yourself

Knowing how to wait requires first the patience of knowing oneself, to stop and reflect and feel safe with ourselves. These are the characteristics that we must enhance to contemplate the world with greater understanding and common sense.

So, Patience is a gift that requires knowledge of impulsivity and thoughtlessness. Only through it will we achieve what we long for without paying an exorbitant price for it. But what can we do to cultivate our patience, become more prudent and know how to wait?

Breathe

Breathing deeply is always a good resource to reflect. Let’s say that, in some way, we are offering a pause to our internal dialogue.

Discover the reason for your haste and impatience

Think about the reasons that lead you to act impulsively or impatiently. Organize your times and rethink your priorities. This will help you get to know yourself and calm down in intense moments.

“In this world no one is too busy. “It’s all a matter of priorities.”

Identify what things or people intensify your impatience

Sometimes people or situations around us generate a conflict in us that forces us to act without thinking. Think about this and try to resolve it or take it into account.

Is your impatience useful? Is it justified?

Answer these two questions completely honestly and Calmly look for those patterns of behavior that are repeated and that are making it impossible for you to do it well.

Take your time and expect the unexpected

There are some words from Jeff Foster that perfectly summarize this issue: Regardless of how ‘bad’ the stories get, you are always being invited to slow down, to breathe, to stop trying to figure it all out, to come out of your own conclusions, to breathe again…”

Cultivating the gift of patience requires temperance like any other learning. That is why we must practice tolerance in “realization”, the ability to read the book of our life, to write and rewrite it and to enjoy each blur and each new smile.
