Find out if you can pass the FBI Special Agent Test

Being an FBI special agent is one of the hardest jobs to get. According to statistics, less than 5% of applicants are accepted. Answering a series of questions can show whether the candidate has a natural potential to develop creative thinking and logic-based reasoning skills. Would you be one of the few to pass the test?

This is the first test. Look at the picture.

There are two women in a room, sitting opposite each other, while a small child plays on the floor. Study the illustration well.

Question: Who do you think is the boy’s real mother?

The child’s mother is the woman on the left. She is sitting in such a way that her legs are facing the boy.

This position reflects a mother’s natural desire to protect her little one. Her posture is protective, leaning slightly forward. It is natural for young children to look at their mother when playing or doing any other type of activity.

A serial killer kidnapped many people and made them choose between two pills, one harmless and one poisonous. No matter which pill the victim took, the serial killer took the other. Each time, people died and the perpetrator survived.

Question: How did the killer always take the harmless pill?

Both pills were harmless. The poison was in the glass of water that the victims drank.

A man and a woman went to a restaurant for dinner. While they were waiting for the main course, she ordered 5 drinks with ice because it was too hot. She drank four of them all at once, while the man only drank one. After a while, he got sick and died. Doctors said all the glasses were poisoned.

Question: Why was the woman still alive when the man died? She read it again and very carefully.

The poison was in the ice. When the woman drank her drinks quickly, the cubes didn’t have time to melt. The man drank slowly and the poison melted into his drink.

Imagine this scene. A man was found dead, he has a gun in his hand and a tape recorder beside him. The detective pressed the “play” button and heard a message that said, “I am tired of this life, and I have decided to stop my pain and suffering.” Then, a gunshot was heard, but somehow the investigator doesn’t believe it was a suicide.

Question: Why does the detective think it was a murder?

If the man committed suicide, how could he rewind the tape to the beginning?

A detective was on duty over the Christmas break, and on the morning of December 25, he got a call. He went to a house, rang the bell, and a minute later, the sleepy owner opened the door. The investigator started the conversation: “Your neighbor said that yesterday, on Christmas Eve, he came to your house for a party, and while he was here, you broke into his house and stole some valuable items.”

The owner replied, “That’s not true, our family celebrated Christmas Eve at some friends’ house and we barely had time to decorate our Christmas tree.”

The detective said, “Don’t worry, it’s pretty obvious to me that your neighbor is a liar.”

Question: How did the investigator know this?

The Christmas tree lights were off, and in reality, a light bulb was missing. Without it, the lights wouldn’t come on. It was clear to the detective that the owner was telling the truth. He had decorated the little tree in such a hurry that he didn’t even check to see if it worked or not.
