English photographer decides to show the resemblance between dogs and their owners (and the result is incredible)

You’ve heard that every dog ​​is the spitting image of its owner, right? Well, now there is research that scientifically proves what most owners already knew in practice.

O awesome.club went deep into the issue and found not only scientific research, but also a photographic project that leaves no doubt: dogs really are the spitting image of their owners.

A survey carried out at the University of Vienna, Austria, concluded that dogs have personality traits very similar to those of their owners and that this characteristic only tends to increase with the years of coexistence. Scientists have come to the conclusion that dogs mimic the state of mind of their human friends. That is, if the owner is or is more stressed, peaceful, happy, anxious, the dog will also demonstrate this in his behavior.

During the study, they analyzed 132 dogs and their owners, who underwent (both animal and human) some tests that included assessments of cortisol levels (the well-known stress hormone), heart rate and reactions to threats. The owners also had to answer a questionnaire with questions about the dog’s personality. These owners were classified into 5 groups according to their personality: neurotic, extroverted, open to experiences, loving and conscientious. Based on the results, the scientists concluded that both dogs and owners influence each other’s behavior. Only the human has greater influence.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, research carried out by a university in Japan sought to assess whether, in addition to behavioral aspects, dogs can acquire a physical resemblance to their owners, in the face and expressions, especially in the eye area.

For the study, the scientists printed out 20 photos of dogs of different breeds with their peers — men and women. The first set of photos contained actual couples; in the second set, the pairs were purposefully mixed up (each dog was placed next to the owner of another animal). The photos were made available for the analysis of a random group of people and most of them got it right, even when the nose and mouth (of the dog or the owner) were covered by black rectangles. However, by covering the eyes, people were unable to correctly identify which pair the dog belonged to.

This study made us certain that the species does not matter: the eyes are capable of translating emotions and revealing who we are. It is through them that we (and, it is now proven, dogs) bring the soul to light.
