Emily Garcia told on social networks that a contact lens was lost in the eyeball of one of her eyes, on Thursday, November 10th.

“Out of nowhere, my lens in that eye is gone. I’ve tried to find it, but I can’t. And the one in the other eye is here, ”she began.

In Instagram Stories, the digital influencer reported that she was experiencing discomfort in one eye because of the missing lens. “The lens in one eye is gone and is bothering my eye,” Emily wrote.

Some time later, she reappeared on Instagram to say that she managed, with a lot of effort, to find the one she had lost in her eye.

“I found it after a long time pulling on my eyelid and massaging it until something came out,” he said.

A Dr Kemi Salami an ophthalmologist at the Beauty of the Look clinic, lists five essential care items.

Lenses must be fitted by a trained professional. Hands must be sanitized before handling lenses. For lens maintenance and cleaning, suitable substances should be used, as they reduce the risk of infection. Therefore, the use of saline solution and running water is contraindicated. Always respect the expiry date of the lenses. Do not sleep with a contact lens and, when noticing any eye irritation, seek an ophthalmologist.

If the contact lens is lost inside the eyeball, the ophthalmologist warns that it is necessary to seek ophthalmological care, as, in this way, it is possible to avoid inflammation and infections in the eyes.

“The permanence of the lens inside the eye can favor the appearance of conjunctivitis and keratitis, both inflammatory and infectious, which are more difficult to treat”, says Dr. Kemi Salami.
