Don’t try to please the fake, never serve the ungrateful

Share:

We spend a lot of time doing the right thing for the wrong people, suffering aimlessly over useless things and people without content, feeding false hopes about what has no chance of happening. We waste a lot of time investing in emptiness, hoping to get a return on what doesn’t come back, waiting for smiles from those who don’t even look at us properly. It is necessary to focus on what is real, on what is good for us, on what does not destroy us.

We need to stop trying to please fake, disgruntled people who are unable to receive anything from outside. There are individuals who are too closed to welcoming what is not within them, what is not part of that little world in which they close themselves, stuck to beliefs and feelings that do not change, that are not rethought, that do not leave their place. Trying to reach them is futile.

It is necessary to avoid servitude to the ungrateful, to profiteers, to those who do not know how to get out of the place by themselves, to those who evade any kind of responsibility. We have to be clear about what we really owe and can take for ourselves, or we will accumulate loads of baggage that are not even remotely related to our lives. A lot of people need help, yes, but many need it with shame on their face.

We cannot nurture dubious friendships, with people who do not express the slightest need for us, as if both our presence and our absence were the same thing, something unimportant, invisible, expendable. Not everyone we like will like us, the return of esteem and affection is never a certainty, so we need to start investing only in reciprocal and true people.

It is not easy or easy to get right about what we can water with the certainty of return and reciprocity, since people, events, and life itself is unpredictable. Although much of what will happen in our lives cannot be controlled, it is important that we try to hold on to what is true and also to the certainty that we deserve to be happy, without ever giving up on our dreams.
