Do past mistakes determine your future?

“If you are willing to risk acting on what you believe to be true and risk making mistakes, you will learn very quickly by paying attention to what works and what doesn’t.”

-Shakti Gawain-

We all have a past . Whether we like it or whether it makes us suffer depends on the particular circumstances.

You may have had more unpleasant experiences, more pleasant experiences, or an equal amount of both. No matter how pleasant or harmful our past was, you cannot let it define you.

All your stories are full of mistakes and successes that will leave an indelible mark on you. All your opinions, dreams and desires can be based on past mistakes… if you allow it.

You are the only one who can tell how to see the past:

as a burden or as a learning

The past does not define you

Look around you and you will see that many people are trapped in the mistakes of their past . They live through their failures or successes. Maybe you are one of them…

Do you still think about what your life would be like if you had been the dancer you wanted to be? You may still feel like a victim of that child who bothered you for years during your childhood.

“Success is achieved by converting each step

“in a goal and each goal in a step”

This It also happens with those who had some great success in the past . You shouldn’t stay stuck in it either. Move forward and go for more successes. You’ve done it once and you can do it again.

The truth is that now you are a completely different person. You are an adult with dreams, hopes and motivations.

It doesn’t matter where they were dreams frustrated or the people you were wrong about. Look around you and appreciate the people in your life. Parents, children, partner, friends…

Nowhere is it written that the past should define you. That is your decision.

The best part of life is that you can evolve and take advantage of what you learned to become something much better.

The lessons of failure

“Every thought-feeling, negative or positive, is a seed that will infallibly germinate, bearing fruit according to that thought-feeling… positive or negative. Thought-feeling is generated within us, therefore, it is under our control, it is something that we can change at our will.”

-Lupita Aguirre-

Failure is what teaches us the most. Success feels great but it gives you less opportunity to grow.

We leave you the most important lessons that we can extract from experiences of failure:

1. You fail because you are alive . The day you die you will stop making mistakes and regret . For now, enjoy the mistakes.

Mistakes remind you that you are imperfect and that along the way there are many satisfactions waiting for you.

2. Mistakes are a door to improvement . I don’t know about you, but I love finding new ones. challenges . When I make mistakes, I take the opportunity to find new knowledge and grow.

No matter how much it hurts to be wrong,

The mediocrity of not wanting to move forward hurts more.

3. You make mistakes because you are human . If we were given the choice, we would surely prefer not to admit our mistakes. But these are as common as breathing.

The next time you want to deny or hide a mistake, remember that They are a good way to connect with your humanity.

Give new value to errors

I think that we generally misunderstand failure or mistakes . We can give them a lot of importance believing that they define what we will be. We can also take away their value by believing that they are only a moment’s worth. Nothing of this is true.

The truth is that we can learn from mistakes. They help you grow. They can make you who you really are instead of being a shadow in your happiness.

You may feel bad about mistakes that led you to harm others. In that case, look for a solution to the problem. Don’t torture yourself if this is not possible. Sometimes you just have to let go of the guilt or shame and not make the same mistakes again.

Who knows? Perhaps by showing that you are moving forward you will open the door for someone else to do the same.

“I am the master of my destiny, the captain of my soul

at all times and in any situation”

-Nelson Mandela-
