Children’s party: Little Red Riding Hood is a cute theme for decoration

No cartoon and movie characters. It’s the traditional children’s stories that are gaining space among party themes and have already made the most cool mothers’ minds. “The party market is looking to rescue the incredible sensations we had as children listening to our parents, uncles, grandparents and teachers reading us children’s stories. They are tales that never left our memories, they marked our lives. It is this rescue of emotions that is happening. Party themes with affection”, says decorator Lilian Ruas, from Tribo da Festa.

And in this scenario, Little Red Riding Hood has emerged as a good substitute for traditional princesses. Responsible for this decoration so full of delicate details, Lilian explains that she used the concept of a simple table, with a homemade look, but no less charming. “I worked thinking of a simpler, smaller, less luxurious table, using, for example, pieces that the client had at home such as books, baskets, picture frames, trays, etc. I used felt dolls that I love, but birthday boy toys would also be welcome! Handicrafts (eva trees, cardboard boxes, covered pieces of wood) and sweets specially prepared and decorated with the theme also make all the difference”, said the decorator.

In themes like this, crafted furniture has given way to more creative rustic tables. At this party, Lilian preferred to wear a top on wooden trestles and the result was a much more charming table. “I always tell my team and students: ‘be creative, seek out what’s new, get out of the sameness, out of commonplace’! With the market rescuing the parties of yesteryear, less has now become much more. I’m looking to work on simplicity with care. It has worked and been successful. Beautiful easels are welcome, as simplicity has become fashionable”, he explains.

Pastel tones create a delicate effect, but can easily fall into monotony. already one vibrant color palette lights up the decoration, passing energy and attracting the attention of the guests. Lilian’s choices ran away from the obvious mix of red and green. Red, blue and beige were chosen as main tones, and orange and yellow as supporting tones.

Lilian points out that one of the secrets to composing a beautiful and attractive table in the eyes of the guests is merge different textures🇧🇷 “I really like handicrafts and mixing materials, textures and prints, producing unusual pieces to surprise. Everything is permitted ! Wood, crockery, glass, paper, acrylic, plastic, plants, flowers, stones, shells, dry leaves, fabrics, felt, EVA… , for example”, he advises.

You decorated sweets they bring more life to the decoration and are responsible for capturing the guests’ attention in every detail of the cake table. Not all sweets need to be decorated with fondant. Some varieties of specialty candies can be mixed with traditional party candies to create a richer look at the table.

There are a multitude of simple details that can make a difference at the table. The secret is to use creativity and escape the obvious. Lilian opted for coconut candy rolls, cones with jelly beans and water bottles with little hats.

The lower part of the table was decorated with flowers and empty bags made available to guests. Thus, each one chose the sweets of their choice to take home. By doing this, the hostess transforms the cake table itself into a souvenir. A practical and economical idea!
