Who needs Google Translate when you have the creativity of Brazilians, right? Netizens let their imaginations run wild on Reddit to create English translations for Portuguese food-related words. The pear fruit turned wait, for example. Did you see the pun?

As the result was hilarious, the awesome.club wants to share with you 19 translations from internet users and even created a bonus word.

Let’s face it: how Brazilians love to abbreviate wait for “pear”, the most literal translation possible would be wait same.
