Brazilian designer creates dolls of celebrities with a realistic look that look like their miniature versions

Can you imagine having a doll just like you? Designer João Doce, a true craftsmanship talent, is able to turn this childhood wish of many people into reality. With his art, he creates miniature versions of famous people, who impress with the wealth of detail. The pieces, of course, are the biggest hit on social media.

Visual artist João Doce was one of the finalists of the 5th season of Bake Off Brasil: Mão na Massa, a culinary reality show specializing in confectionery. In the attraction, broadcast by SBT in 2019, he did not win first place, but ended up catching the attention of netizens with his incredible modeling work.

The boy said that he became interested in sculptures when he was only 7 years old and, since then, he has not stopped creating. João learned the art from his mother, who, in turn, was inspired by a craft shown on the Mais Você program. She ended up becoming a teacher of modeling in cold porcelain, known as biscuit, and her professional influence on her son’s life was inevitable.

João had the opportunity to directly thank Ana Maria Braga, a figure he considers responsible for his mother’s education and, consequently, an inspiration for his work. At Mais Você, the designer delivered a doll he made to the presenter, who was thrilled to learn about the boy’s story.

In addition to biscuit, some of João’s pieces are also made of recyclable plastic ceramic, which does not harm the environment or generate waste. All are hand-prepared and painted—and he doesn’t miss a single detail. The care and precision in the modeling process of each miniature is truly breathtaking!

Among the famous who have already won miniature versions by the artist are names such as Luciano Huck, Ludmilla, Eliana, Jojo Todynho, Wesley Safadão, Whindersson Nunes, Paulo Gustavo, Juliette Freire and Manu Gavassi.
