Beauty Blender: learn how to use the magic makeup sponge

You know that kind of product you buy without high expectations and, suddenly, it becomes essential in your daily life, making you wonder “how did you live all that time without it”?!

This is how many people define Beauty Blender (BB), a makeup sponge that has conquered more and more women, both inside and outside the country.

What is the success of? Probably because the sponge has a super-soft texture. But below you can find all the information about this product, so you can draw your own conclusions and know if the Beauty Blender, in fact, can be useful in your beauty routine too!

What is Beauty Blender?

Raphaella Bahia, makeup artist and eyebrow designer at FR Microcenter, explains that the Beauty Blender is a drop-shaped sponge, with a super-soft texture. “It can be used both dry and wet and it also helps to make the skin more even,” she says.

Most bloggers who have already tested the product guarantee that the Beauty Blender is truly differentiated, as no other sponge is so soft and smooth. That’s probably why she’s been so happy!

The Beauty Blender was initially found only in pink (original beauty blender). But then new colors appeared: white (pure beauty blender) and black (pro beauty blender). All are the same, the color is just an aesthetic detail!

How to use Beauty Blender?

Raphaella Bahia explains that Beauty Blender can be used dry or wet, to apply primer, concealer and foundation on the face.

Makeup artist Eliane Araújo, from Esmell Leblon, highlights that, in the case of foundation, in addition to applying it with Beauty Blender all over the face, women cannot forget about the neck area, to ensure uniform makeup.

Marcio Mello, from the Éclat salon, reinforces that BB’s great differential is the fact that it is very soft, so it can be used dry. “It doesn’t hurt the skin and it’s very soft. Therefore, there is no mystery to use it: apply the product to the sponge and apply it all over the face, not forgetting the corners”, he recalls.

Rick Silva, makeup artist at Sonia Nesi Beauty Studio, points out, however, that there is a problem with using a sponge to apply liquid products. “The big problem with using a sponge to apply liquid product is that it absorbs a lot of it, and you end up having a certain amount of waste”, she comments.

But makeup artist Rick Silva gives a solution so that this waste does not occur excessively. The tip is to use the wet BB. “That way, the sponge will already have other liquids inside it and it won’t absorb as much of its base”, he says.

“Another advantage of using the Beauty Blender wet is that, with plenty of water in the application of the foundation, the coverage will be lighter and the skin, consequently, with a more natural, beautiful and hydrated appearance”, highlights makeup artist Rick Silva.

Makeup artist Eliane Araújo Lavar reinforces that a good alternative is to wash the sponge with Johnson’s Baby shampoo. “The Beauty Blender can be stored in the makeup case, you just have to be careful so that it doesn’t come into contact with other products and get dirty again”, she highlights.
