At 32 years old, Ali Banat he was a wealthy Australian businessman for whom all doors were always open. He had everything: youth, money, important contacts. The young man spent huge amounts of money on a luxurious life, amusements and hobbies.

But the tycoon’s life changed dramatically when, in the fall of 2015, he received a sad diagnosis. Doctors told Ali that he was suffering from a severe form of cancer. There was no possibility of treatment, once the disease had reached grade IV.

After the doctors told him he only had a few months to live, Ali rethought his entire existence: the squandering of money was over, as he realized he couldn’t go on like this. At the time, Ali said, “Money is the last thing you think about when you find out you’re sick, or have a short time to live.”

He sold all of his companies, properties and cars. In October of the same year, he created the Muslims Around the World charity, to which he devoted all his money.

After promising to spend his last days helping people, the millionaire turned to charity: he visited nearly 100 countries for humanitarian purposes, opened several dozen aid centers for the poor, built a shelter for orphans, built new schools and hospitals for needy people, in addition to having financed the construction of wells in localities that suffered from a lack of potable water.
