Yes! the nutritionist @nataliabarros. nutri explains that tomatoes are extremely rich in micronutrients (vitamins and minerals). And unlike many other fruits, it is more nutritious when consumed after going through a heating process than when consumed raw, you know?

“Many diseases occur due to oxidative damage caused by excess free radicals naturally formed by the body and also by stress, chronic inflammation, ultraviolet radiation, smoking, pollutants… Lycopene, an antioxidant present in tomatoes, is one of the most efficient free radical neutralizers.

However, our lycopene absorption capacity is small when the tomato is raw.

That doesn’t mean that raw tomatoes don’t have great properties too. Including, raw tomato has greater amounts of vitamin C than heated tomato, because in the heating process, vitamin C is lost.

Therefore, the heated tomato has more bioavailable lycopene than the raw tomato, and the raw tomato has more vitamin C than the heated tomato.” ⠀
