Alessandra Vidal de Negreiros Negrini was born in the city of São Paulo, in 1970, and spent her childhood and adolescence on the coast of the state, in Santos. Daughter of an engineer and a pedagogue, she has a younger brother, Paulo. And a curiosity: Alessandra is a descendant of André Vidal de Negreiros, one of the leaders of the Pernambuco Insurrection.

Since he was a child, he already played in the circus and gathered his friends to do theater. She even considered becoming a ballerina (which she says was a failure) and even an opera singer, before settling on acting. During an exchange program in the United States, at age 16, she acted in the musical The King and I. The young woman took a liking to it and, at age 18, began studying theater in São Paulo. It was at this time that she got her first test on Rede Globo.

In 1993, at the age of 23, Alessandra landed her first roles on TV: a participation in the series Retrato de Mulher and then a role in the telenovela Olho no Olho. But the work that really raised her to stardom was the miniseries Engraçadinha, from 1995. The reason is that the production was very daring for the time, adapted from an original text by Nelson Rodrigues.

In 2000, Alessandra played the character Isabel, in the miniseries A Muralha, which broke female stereotypes, questioning the place of women in society in the 17th century. After that work, she collected successes in soap operas and series such as Desires for a Woman, Celebrity, JK, Tropical Paradise and Pride and Passion.

It was even in the soap opera Paraíso Tropical that Alessandra lived two of her most memorable characters: the twins Paula and Taís, a young lady and a villain. Fans remember her performance to this day, especially the accent she imprinted on the character from Rio de Janeiro, Taís.

Alessandra says that she thought about the accent to differentiate the twins: “I don’t know if I would do that today. It was my daring! Daring… I am an actress who allows herself certain daring. I am doing it, an intuition comes to me, I go and do it.”

But it’s not just on TV that Alessandra shines. The actress never left the stage and also has a love for cinema. Between features and short films, Alessandra has participated in 16 films. If your professional life was quite hectic, your love life was not far behind. In 1995, she started dating actor Murilo Benício, with whom she starred in the telenovela Meu Bem Querer. Together, they had the son Antônio Benício, who is also an actor and has already acted with his father. The relationship with Murilo lasted until 1999.

After him, Alessandra even dated other actors, such as Marcos Palmeira and André Gonçalves, and a few more relationships. Unfortunately, most didn’t last long. The exception was with the singer Otto, from 2001 to 2008. With him, she had another daughter, in 2004, Betina Negrini. After the separation, she moved to São Paulo with her children, aged 12 and 4 at the time.

Currently, the actress prefers to keep her relationships away from the media, despite being casually seen at events, accompanied by famous men or not. Betina follows the same steps and stays away from the paparazzi and social networks. In early 2021, when starring as the witch Cuca, the Netflix series Cidade Invisível, Alessandra caught the attention of the internet. In an interview, Alessandra says that she has started to regularly practice meditation in recent times to maintain her mental and emotional well-being.
