According to research, anyone who wears black can be seen as someone smart, reliable and attractive.

The perception of a person in relation to others can be influenced by many factors, including the way of speaking, the way of relating or even the way of dressing. Regarding the last factor, clothing choice and color say a lot about a person. In the UK, research was carried out which determined that associating clothing with color psychology is an even stronger way of explaining people’s different perceptions.

To answer this question, the buytshirtonline, a store in the UK that sells clothing over the Internet, conducted a survey. The focus was the perception of color in relation to the way of dressing to impress; that is, what are the colors that help on a first date or in an interview. Of the 1,000 participants, 56% said that wearing black clothes makes a person look more confident.

For 38% of men, women who wear black are more attractive. On the other hand, 66% of women indicated that they prefer men who wear this color. These data reaffirmed that the shade of clothing we choose changes others’ perception of us.

In addition, in relation to intelligence, the research took as a starting point the campaign against the stereotype of the color pink. About 5% of people argued that smart people would wear this color. Who emerged victorious again was the color black, with 45% of preference.

In this sense, the research concluded that black is the most highly rated color. People who wear black are perceived as trustworthy, intelligent and attractive.
