9 Former BBBs who regretted joining the program, but turned it around

Big Brother Brasil is one of the most successful reality shows in the country. With so much time on the air and more than 300 participants passing through the “most watched house in Brazil”, the program consolidated its annual presence on the television schedule. Passing through it brought several opportunities to several brothers, but also made others regret the exposure — although that does not mean that they did not “turn around”.

The participant of the 5th edition of the program Natália Prada (at the time known as Natália Nara) has already said that “if I could go back in time, I wouldn’t go again”. For her, the title of “ex-bbb” is seen in a pejorative way — if on the one hand some doors were opened, on the other hand, it hindered several opportunities (including employment) and labeled her as a party girl, something she does not identify with. “It’s a fun show that everyone wants to watch, but nobody takes you seriously,” he said at the time. Maíra, today, however, calls herself a “weight loss entrepreneur” and has more than 6.6 million followers on social networks.

Another participant of the 9th edition also regrets her participation. Mirla Prado doesn’t like the way she was shown during the exhibition: always silent. The lawyer moved to another country and profession — she lives in the United States and runs a YouTube channel, where she narrates videos about curious, sinister and true crime facts.

In the 10th edition of the BBB, Tessalia and Michel formed a couple and starred in many romantic scenes. This, added to her positioning in the game, did not please the public and the young woman was eliminated with 78% of the votes. The judgment she endured during and after confinement has left her feeling unwell. Because of this, Tessalia has already stated more than once that she regrets having participated in the reality show.

Today, her Instagram is closed and she prefers to share a clipping of her life only on Twitter. But years passed, the former BBB turned around and had an unexpected career change. She became champion of Bodybuilding in the Wellness category at the Dubai Muscle Classic competition in 2021. As a result, she was sought after by sponsors and trained to compete at the World Beauty Fitness and Fashion (WBFF) in London, where she also won one of the awards.

Due to some attitudes she had in reality, Talita (BBB 15) lost her job at the time and does not seem to have managed to establish a good relationship with the public – this also made her not feel good about the image that the program caused. Talita lives in Ireland and prefers the comfort of being anonymous in the country. For her, it was a relief to be able to start over and do trivial things without being judged by people on the street. On her social networks, she shares her daily life as a Brazilian living abroad. She has already stated that she is fulfilled living there and that she has no intention of returning to Brazil permanently.

Ana Paula Costa was part of the cast of the 18th edition of the reality show and became known as “Bruxinha”, due to her belief in witches. For her, her participation in the program meant that the image of “evil witch” that was painted harmed the public’s view of her and even ended up affecting possible future contracts. She still ventured into the musical world after the show, but is currently an actress and creates content for social networks.

With the biggest rejection in the program’s history (99.17% of the votes), Karol Conká was heavily criticized for her aggressive behavior inside the house. The singer showed regret the day after the elimination, during breakfast with Ana Maria Braga, at Mais Você. “This villain that emerged inside me on the program is not real here on the outside,” she stressed at the morning meeting.

Shortly thereafter, Karol starred in the documentary A Vida After Tombo, which followed his steps after participating in the reality show. She went back on her position months later, said she had no regrets and was taking care of herself. She also released the singles Dilúvio and Louca e Sagaz. Gradually, the singer and presenter resumed her career, winning back the fans she already had.

Some media outlets attributed a speech by the rapper about loss and regret to his participation in the 21st edition.
