9 Brazilian celebrities who are single mothers and speak openly about it

In the past, the term “single mother” was used to refer to some women who raised their children alone, without parental help. However, currently, the expression solo mother is used, since many mothers can be married, but still raise their offspring completely alone – and are divided between work and motherhood.

Several celebrities share the real life of a mother on social networks, in addition to the challenges they face in this process.

We, from awesome.club, we know that the life of a mother and, at the same time, dedicating herself to work is not an easy one. That’s why we admire every woman who still strives to give her children a better life.

1. Gloria Maria

The presenter and reporter decided to adopt her daughters in 2009, and since then, she shares her experience as a single mother in interviews and posts on social networks, showing the reality of taking care of two children, alone. On her Instagram, the star told a little about what it’s like to be a solo mother:

“That’s beautiful, isn’t it? But there’s the B side! Fight! Sick on the boat! Fight mom! Jealousy! Complain about excessive heat! From the strong wind! Missing my friends who stayed in Brazil! They don’t like to wake up early! But they don’t want the holidays to end! How does a single mom manage all of this? In a boat with them that swim like little fish, and I don’t know how to swim! Always trying to learn how to live!”

2. Gaby Amarantos

The singer gave birth to a boy when she was just 27 years old. The sweet boy is the son of Gaby’s former boyfriend, but until then, he was not part of the upbringing and chose not to meet his son. Today, Gaby is married and shares her life with a businessman who became Davi’s stepfather.

“Being a single mother in a way makes it easier, because there is no one on my toes talking about how to raise my son. I’m not saying it’s right, but in my case it’s like that.”

3. Samara Felippo

At the age of 42, the actress shares her experience on her social networks about being a single mother and portrays true motherhood. Samara was married to basketball player Leandro Barbosa, and the couple had two daughters, Alicia and Laura.

“I love my daughters, I hate being a mother. My piece was a cry about, ‘let me feel what I want to feel’. No one has to dictate how I feel. No one has to veil my feeling. It’s not because I don’t like the job — and my position is very privileged — that I stop loving my daughters”.

4. Isabeli Fontana

The model is married to singer Di Ferreiro, has two children from previous relationships and in an interview, Isabeli told a little about her experience as a single mother and working most of the time.

“It’s a crazy, turbulent routine. She needs to be a psychologist, she needs to calm down, she needs everything. I charge myself every day to be more present, but I need to balance my emotional life and my life with my work, otherwise I can’t do anything. And I need to do it, because I am a single mother.”

5. Drica Moraes

6. Giselle Itie

Giselle approaches the subject of solo motherhood with great sincerity and transparency in her social networks and interviews. Even with good times, the actress faces some difficulties in raising her son alone, but finds comfort in the comments and reports of her followers.

“There is this movement of the father questioning… And people question, right? What is it like to be a single mother? It’s a simple fact: if dad isn’t raising as much as you are, it means you’re a single parent. There is no single father. It’s kind of hard (laughs). It’s a big minority, but it exists too. Is important.”

7. Mariah de Moraes

Known for acting in Malhação and Floribella, the actress is the sole mother of little João Pedro, and as she claims, she only realized that she was raising her son alone when he was 7 years old. According to Mariah, she was so overwhelmed that she could barely reflect on solo motherhood.

“Single mother has nothing to do with marital status. Most married mothers are singles. This term means that the mother alone assumes most of the child’s responsibilities, or even all, without a fair division. It overwhelms and limits all of this woman’s choices.”

8. Mariana Kupfer

The presenter always had the dream of being a mother, so she ran after her goal and opted for artificial insemination. Today, she is the mother of little Vicky, and shares her life as a single mother on her Instagram, in addition to having written a book to encourage those who seek other ways to have children.
