He knows how to respect women

Hollywood can be a difficult environment for women, as many end up having their space disrespected, so men must take care of them. Henry even commented that he had a certain fear of flirting, not to be misunderstood, but he showed awareness by stating that “you can’t go after someone other than ‘no’”. He also reinforced that he supports women above all else, whether as a friend, colleague or in any other form of relationship. All right, Mr. Cavill!

He is “people like us” and also feels insecure

The Superman interpreter admitted that he also suffers from his insecurities and that they have resurfaced thanks to social networks. According to him, “it’s something that really messes with your head.” The actor says that when he comes across photos of himself on Instagram, he doesn’t always like what he sees: “Ah, that’s me looking ugly, ugly, ugly…” Despite this “swing” in his self-esteem, he reveals that he found particular ways of dealing with these insecurities. Is helpful to fans (of any age)

Henry often stops to take pictures with fans and is as understanding with them as few stars are. A fan recounts his experience when meeting him: “I met Henry Cavill a year ago and was surprised to see how thoughtful he was. I said, ‘No offense, but I prefer it when you post pictures of your dog.’ He laughed and said ‘I understand’”.

When asked about the most loyal followers of the characters he plays, the actor said he doesn’t see them as a downside. He says, “When it comes to fans, it’s their right to have whatever opinion they want and people can get upset… I don’t necessarily find that toxic. I just consider it passion.”

He still declares himself to those who appreciate his work, saying: “You are incredible, wonderful people and I am eternally grateful for you. Thanks. Your passion, your patience, your belief in magic is why I do what I do. Thank you all for your presence and support. Being on this journey with you is special beyond words.” How not to love?

Is sincere and not afraid of it

Despite being involved in major film productions, the actor is very sincere and admits that he doesn’t do it just for the art, but also for the money involved. He says: “The money is fantastic and that’s something I take into account.” Henry says he loves to travel, especially first class, going to fancy places and spending money on his friends so he feels they are being taken care of. And he finishes: “I will never pretend to be shy about it, I love it”. Who wouldn’t, huh?

It is resilient

As a child, Henry lived in a boarding school. There, he says he was very homesick and spoke to his mother several times a day. This, he said, made him an “easy target” for colleagues. In addition, he says that during this period he was overweight and was called by others “Fat Cavill”, which “did not help to increase his self-esteem”.

However, the actor reveals that these experiences served to make him the person he is today and taught him a lot about people. He was a chubby kid until he was 17, when he landed a role in the movie The Count of Monte Cristo and lost nearly 10 kg. After that, he concludes, “it wasn’t Fat Cavill anymore”.

He cares about animals

Despite enjoying the money that his profession brings and spending on luxury programs, part of the actor’s attention and resources go to supporting important causes. Since 2014, he has been an ambassador for the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, a fund that cares for endangered animals. So, in addition to donating, fundraising and campaigning, he also adopted a flying fox bat, which he nicknamed Ben.

Furthermore, Henry has a four-legged best friend, his American Akita dog named Kal. He shares that they share an incredibly close bond and go pretty much everywhere together. Still, he says that the animal helped him overcome several psychological challenges and that it saved his mental health. Very cute, isn’t it?

He was also a fan and believed in his dream

Years before becoming an international star, Henry was starting to make his first plays at Stowe School, in England, when Russell Crowe was in school for some recordings of the film Proof of Life, in 2000. Henry was 16 years old and took courage, between all colleagues, to talk to the idol. He says: “I walked up to him, held out my hand and said ‘Hi, my name is Henry, I’m thinking of becoming an actor, any tips? How it is?’ and he said ‘well you know the pay is great but sometimes they don’t treat you so well’”.

Well, the boy left a good impression on Russell Crowe, who days later sent a package to the boarding school. The box contained some gifts and a picture of him in Gladiator, with the words: “Dear Henry, A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”.

Then, 12 years later, they “bumped into each other” in preparation for a new film and Russell asked him, “Do I know you?” Henry asked if he remembered the boy who met him that day, the star replied that he did and repeated the words he said. This encounter marked the beginning of their partnership in O Homem de Aço, in which they played together as father and son. I think a speck fell here.

So, it seems like it’s hard not to love Henry that way, isn’t it? Which role of his do you like the most? Is there any he wasn’t so good at? Leave a comment!
