We’ve been relentlessly following the fate of Marvel’s top comic book superheroes for over 10 years, and sometimes the adventures of certain movies fascinate us more than our favorite childhood television shows. Meanwhile, many actors who took part in the filming of these epic productions became world famous people with a huge army of fans in different parts of the world.
At the awesome.club we rewatch more than 20 brilliant films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe produced in the last decade, paying attention to how the protagonists changed on the screen, how they aged and the next moment regained their youth. 1. Chris Evans β Steve Rogers (Captain America)
The transformations of Chris Evans’ character began to occur even in the movie Captain America: The First Avenger, where he went from a small and thin boy to a man with an athletic body. 3. Mark Ruffalo β Bruce Banner (Hulk)
In the new version of Avengers: Endgame, many characters experience changes in appearance, but the transformations that occur with the huge green monster also affect their personality. Finally, Mark Ruffalo’s character finds harmony with his inner beast and grows into a sweet, charming giant with a three-day beard, trendy glasses and a size 16XL cardigan.
4. Chris Hemsworth β Thor
Chris Hemsworth’s character over 8 years of filming has become unrecognizable. It seems that in the first film the makeup artists spent time lightening the hair, but in Avengers Thor’s eyebrows and beard darkened, while his hair grew even longer. Perhaps for this reason, Tony Stark nicknamed him Goldilocks. But his apparition transformation into Ultimatum surprised even the most devoted fans of Marvel movies. 5. Samuel L. Jackson β Nick Fury
According to the plot of the film captain marvel, the action takes place in the 1990s. So, in this blockbuster, Marvel resorted to its favorite method of digital rejuvenation, removing 25 extra years from the character of Samuel L. Jackson. While previously this expensive and difficult technique was only used in a few short episodes of the superhero franchise, in the film captain marvel the director of the spy agency SHIELD, Nick Fury, remains young throughout. It’s hard to imagine how many hours visual effects specialists put into such painstaking work.
6. Sebastian Stan β James (Bucky) Barnes (The Winter Soldier)
Captain America’s best friend Bucky is taken prisoner after an accident, his memory wiped and he becomes the Winter Soldier, with a bionic arm. Captain America helps him regain his memory, and doctors from the secret country of Wakand heal Barnes completely, who sided with the Avengers. In several episodes of the film, Sebastian’s real arm was “removed” using digital technologies.
7. Michael Douglas β Hank Pym
In the movie The ant Man70-year-old Michael Douglas lost about 25 years in such a way that his example is still considered one of the best experiments in the field of visual effects in cinema.
