7 Cosmetics That Dermatologists Condemn

It’s normal. Most of us tend to trust certain cosmetics more when they are labeled “approved by dermatologists”. And it’s no wonder, since the advice given by these specialists is almost always of great professional value. At the same time, doctors are human beings and they also take care of their own skin. And it’s always interesting to know what they use and also which products they prefer to stay away from.

O awesome.club prepared a list of cosmetics that dermatologists do not use or recommend to their patients. It’s surprising to learn that the “nominees” on this list are reputed to be harmless and on the shelves of many restrooms out there.

1. Hand and body lotion

Generally, dermatologists turn to creams. Such products have a thick consistency and are able to properly moisturize the skin. But lotions, on the contrary, do not have such an effect. In many cases, they are just oils mixed with water. And after using products of this kind, hands and body are always oily and sticky.

2. Charcoal based masks

Very popular, this cosmetic also has enemies among dermatologists. Experts claim that, in addition to the procedure of removing the mask being very painful, the product damages the structure of the skin. The ingredients of this type of cosmetic act aggressively, as they remove cells, fat and oiliness.

3. Spray sunscreen

Experts agree that, in some cases, spray sunscreens are more practical to use. But for everyday use, they prefer the cream product. Sprays make it difficult to apply a thick layer, not to mention that a good part of the product is carried away by the wind and does not even come into contact with the skin. In addition, dermatologists believe that sunscreens with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide in their composition are more effective for skin care than the rest. Sunscreens with one of these substances reflect ultraviolet rays, not absorb them.

4. Tanning oil

Tanning oil is also not trusted by dermatologists. It not only has a low level of protection against ultraviolet rays, but also has the effect of clogging pores, which can significantly worsen the condition of the skin.

5. Ointment “Hydrocortisone”

These ointments are strong-acting steroid medications used to treat serious skin conditions. However, many people use them without medical advice in order to reduce the amount of inflammation on the face. Dermatologists do not use hydrocortisone for such purposes without apparent indications. By using them for a long time, you may suffer from breakouts, skin damage, dermatitis and acne. If you still want to use it, consult your doctor.

6. Foot mask

Dermatologists do not recommend using moisturizing and nourishing foot masks. For effects of this type, creams are more suitable. Masks do not have a practical effect, in addition to not being comfortable to wear.

7. Coconut oil

Coconut oil is very popular, especially for home use. But it is better not to use it as a face cosmetic. The product gives the skin excessive shine and clogs the pores. With that, the person can suffer from acne and pigmented spots.

And you, do you know other cosmetic products whose use is contraindicated by specialists?
