The idea was to take the main forms of work, with the best opportunities, both in terms of salary and the number of vacancies available.

The 7 best areas of psychology

1) Clinical Psychology: private practices and clinics with health professionals such as doctors of all specialties, physiotherapists, nutritionists, among others. I also consider that online psychology, via the internet, is within Clinical Psychology, despite the fact that the Federal Council of Psychology establishes subtle differences such as the maximum number of consultations and the definition that it does not consist of a consultation, but a Online Guidance.

2) Organizational Psychology or Human Resources: small, medium and large companies and industries. In these places, the professional performs 4 activities:

2.1) Recruitment: which, roughly speaking, can be defined as the strategies to invite candidates to participate in selection processes. An ideal number for the candidate-vacancy ratio is 3 candidates per vacancy. Thus, for 10 vacancies, the recruiter calls 30 candidates to compete with each other.

2.2) Personnel Selection: individual and group interviews, group dynamics, application of psychological tests to raise the profile of each candidate and show the company the best ones for hiring.

2.4) Personnel Department: more linked to accounting, but which can also be the target of professional work by psychologists. It concerns activities related to the hiring and dismissal of employees, especially in the more technical or bureaucratic part.

3) Academic Psychology: teaching at private or federal colleges. I don’t comment on the video, but there is also the possibility of working in technical courses and, recently, the return of psychologists in high school has been discussed.

4) Institutional Psychology: I work in health or aid institutions such as Apae and within governments as is the case with Caps (Psychosocial Care Center) or Naps (Psychosocial Care Center).

5) Hospital Psychology: work within hospitals. It is different from acting within institutions as it requires specific techniques such as the Psychological Duty and the application of management tools similar to work in organizations.

6) School Psychology: some authors demarcate the difference between school psychology and educational psychology. In the video, I don’t make this distinction. Here, this form of insertion of psychologists is defined as work within schools, as well as psychopedagogy, which aim to improve student performance, whether children or adolescents.

7) Social Psychology: it is a large area of ​​activity more present in NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) and in academic research regarding the relationship of man with the group, society, culture in which he is immersed.
