6 ways to iron clothes without using an iron

For most women, ironing is not on their list of favorite household chores. In addition to demanding a considerable amount of time, the activity is responsible for back pain because it is always performed in the same position. And what about the heat? On hot days, ironing clothes becomes even more unpleasant.

Anyway, in some cases the task must be performed. Some items should even be ironed using an iron, such as shirts (see at the end of the article how to make ironing easier!).

The good news is that there are certain tricks to unwrinkle clothes without using an iron. These tips are great in cases of emergencies, unforeseen events and travel and are valid if your clothes are wrinkled (not wrinkled!). Discover 6 ways to iron clothes without using an iron.

1. shower

The shower trick is an old acquaintance, but it works. When taking a shower, close the air vents in the bathroom and turn the shower on to a warm position. Hang clothes on a hanger. The steam from the water will smooth out the garment and make it smooth.

2. Hair dryer

The hair dryer can also be an ally in the ironing of clothes. Hang the garment on a hanger and direct the hot air to the garment. Keep a distance of 15 centimeters between the dryer and the garment to prevent the fabric from burning. If there is any more wrinkled part, wet it slightly and direct the wind from the dryer.

3. Flat iron

As strange as it may seem, the flat iron can also replace the iron in some cases. This method works for small wrinkles in clothing, sleeves, and collars. Turn on the flat iron and let it heat up. When it is at medium temperature, run it through your clothes as if you were going through your hair. There are flat irons that can be used on wet hair, in which case it is possible to moisten the area that is more wrinkled and pass the flat iron at a low temperature.

4. Clothes dryer

Put the wrinkled clothes in the clothes dryer. Wet half of a sock or fabric and run the dryer on medium or gentle for about 15 minutes. Drying wet clothes will produce steam that will leave the wrinkled garment very smooth.

5. Water

If you’re in a hurry, it’s best to put your clothes on and sprinkle water on the creases in the garment. It looks weird, but the clothing will naturally dry on your body and be wrinkle-free.

You can also hang your clothes on a hanger, spray a little water all over the garment and let it dry naturally in an open place with direct sunlight. The process will take around an hour. The fabric will relax with the humidity and heat, taking out the wrinkle, and the sun will dry it.

6. Towel

Leave the garment on a flat surface and place a damp towel directly over the garment. This method takes longer than usual, but your clothes should be relatively smooth!

What you can do to make ironing easier:

In some cases there is no way to escape: the way is to iron the clothes with the iron! To make the task easier, there are some tips regarding how to wash, extend and collect the pieces. Meet some:

• Do not exaggerate the amount of clothes to be put in the washing machine. Never exceed the maximum amount indicated. If you put too many clothes in the machine, they will be twisted and consequently wrinkled. Also, right after the wash cycle you must spread out the pieces.
• Before putting the clothes on the line, give the piece a “shake”. This will keep the clothes from getting so wrinkled. Hang them with clothespins, but leave the clothes in contact with the clothesline as little as possible.
• When extending clothes, a great tip is to put t-shirts and shirts on hangers. The pieces dry faster and don’t warp as much.
• Do not leave clothes on the line for a long time. Once it’s dry, you can pick it up.
• Fold the clothes right after picking up.
