6 Simple Head Massage Moves to Get Rid of Wrinkles

Taking constant care of your skin, paying visits to cosmetologists and giving “beauty shots” are not habits that guarantee that the skin of the face remains young for a long time. The health of the muscles and tendons of the head and neck has a great influence on the color and youth of the skin. And the lack of it can cause swelling, congenital ptosis (drooping of the upper eyelid) and wrinkles, in case of lack of an effective treatment.

we, from awesome.club, we discovered what is called an epicraneal aponeurosis and why a short massage applied daily to this area provides a remarkable face-lifting effect. Next, we show you some useful exercises to combat the problem.

The epicranial aponeurosis is an extensive membrane that is located in the scalp region. Over time, the galea aponeurotic (scalp) becomes less malleable, loses elasticity, and becomes more closely attached to the skull. Its retraction ends up reducing the flow of blood in that area, squeezing the head and bringing the face down, like a swimming cap. For this reason, the eyelids are protruding, the corners of the eyes are drooping, the double chin and deep wrinkles appear and the contours of the face are “undefined”.

The mobility of the scalp is a sign of the healthy state of the region, which can be maintained with self-massage techniques in this area. The more mobile the scalp, the younger the face.

1. Lateral movement

Pin the hair roots on both sides of the head, a few inches above the ears, feeling the scalp move, and slowly pull the hair towards the top of the head. Hold the position for some time. Tilt your head forward a little to increase the tension between your hair and your skin and make circular motions with your hands clockwise and counterclockwise.

Duration: 30–40 seconds.

2. Movement behind the ears

Tuck the hair on both sides of the head behind the ears at the back of the head, feeling the scalp move, and slowly pull it towards the top. Hold the position for a while and then make gentle circular motions with your hands clockwise and counterclockwise.

Duration: 30–40 seconds.

3. Movement between the frontal lobe and the occipital lobe

Hand-clip the hair on the occipital lobe (near the posterior fossa) and the frontal lobe (near the hair growth line). Gently pulling the hair towards the top of the head, hold the position and make circular motions with your hands clockwise and counterclockwise.

Duration: 30–40 seconds.

4. Forehead to top of head massage

Place your fingers on your forehead, at the hair growth line, and move them towards the top of your head, pressing lightly and making circular motions. Hold this position and massage the painful areas harder.

Duration: 30–40 seconds.

5. Massage of the back of the neck

6. Lymphatic drainage

Make fists and place them on the protruding bones of the skull on both sides of the posterior fossa. Massage by pressing the region, making circular movements.

Duration: 30–40 seconds.

You can do this massage during the day, but it’s best to do all the movements in the morning, after waking up, sitting or standing.
