6 Reasons Why Chemistry Is A Must In Your Relationship!

Share:

Chemistry is without a doubt the most important thing in a relationship. One could argue that things like trust, respect and mutual understanding are more important, but I disagree.

You can learn to be respectful, you can learn to understand someone, and it takes time for someone to earn your trust. However, you just cannot manufacture the chemistry.

So what bulhufas is chemistry, and how can we find it?

Lucky for you, I spent years YEARS researching the subject, and modesty aside, I consider myself an expert in chemistry. I am really fascinated by it and have found myself under its mysterious exploits many times.

So much so that if you put all the guys in a room that I’ve had chemistry with, you’ll find a very physically and emotionally diverse group.

Chemistry really has no requirements or limits and is apparently blind. Only that.

In the search for some real answers about my number one relationship, I asked a therapist for advice who patiently explained this mysterious and surprising thing to me. The beginning of a relationship is really the most passionate phase in a couple’s life. This is called Limerence.

Limerence refers to the early stages of love, which can last anywhere from two months to 10 years. Apparently, this is the time when two people are so in love with each other that they can’t think of anything other than that person.

This phase is absolutely essential for a relationship to work in the long term. In order for you to move on to the next phase, the “trust building phase”, both of you need to know that you have reached the Limerence phase!

So, besides Limerence, what else is there to know about chemistry?

Chemistry has absolutely nothing to do with looks. Having the option of being with someone especially passionate and still not feeling any attraction is honestly devastating. It happens to all of us.

The chemistry doesn’t go away. Want proof? Ask my mother!

After I dumped another big guy for lack of chemistry, she told me clearly, “But butterflies are so important; I still see them when I see her dad drive into the garage,” and that’s after 32 years of marriage.

Think about it! We all know at least one couple who, no matter how long they’ve been together, when you see them, their chemistry is so obvious and intoxicating that you know it won’t go away.

Did you know that you can really like a person, but that doesn’t mean you have chemistry for them?!

God, I hate that fact. It doesn’t matter if they have the exact job, family, personality and physical characteristics you’ve always dreamed of; yet you may not be attracted to him/her.

Chemistry is an intangible thing that trumps all of that. It can be missing even the most seemingly “perfect” relationships, which definitely sucks.

You absolutely must have chemistry from the start. Reread the Limerence part above if you need an update. This phase has to come before all other phases.

Chemistry lays the foundation of their desire for each other. Limerence is what separates you from being lovers from being just friends.

If you go straight to the ‘trust building’ phase, you cannot go back to the Limerence phase. One simply must come before the other.

Don’t settle for anything less than butterflies in your stomach.

Chemistry is just the beginning of what’s to come. When you FINALLY have this insane chemistry with someone, you want to not only keep it, but also turn it into a complete relationship.

Now is the time you start to develop respect, communication and trust in your relationship.

It’s something more than just physical. Yes, chemistry fuels the desire to be around each other all the time, but the kind of chemistry that will lead to the best relationships is more than just sex.

Everything is better when that special person is with you.

In short: Chemistry is an absolute must for a successful relationship. And above all, it’s worth the wait.

Don’t date someone you don’t have chemistry with and don’t settle for anything less than butterflies in your stomach.
