5G: all risks silenced

5G mobile phone technology and the “internet of things” is already among us. Last July, Vodafone launched its network over 15 Spanish cities. Accelerated navigation, new services and amenities are promised, but health risks are being muted.

There are independent scientists who warn us of the consequences of being continuously subjected, without rest, to the electromagnetic pollution that the high frequency emissions from antennas, mobile phones, Wi-Fi and wireless connected devices.

Situation out of control: governments do not regulate and scientists worry

Researchers such as Magda Havas, Annie Sasco, David Carpenter or Ceferino Maestú, who participated in the I Scientific Conferences organized by the Association of Sensitive Electro and Chemists for the Right to Health (EQSDS) in Segovia, warn that the 5G technology will be accompanied by an increase in a variety of pathologies, from infertility to neurological diseases and cancer.

“Governments are not controlling what is happening and scientists are very concerned”said Ceferino Maestú, director of the Bioelectromagnetism Laboratory of the Biomedical Technology Center of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

Cancer, diabetes, stroke, heart attacks…: the price of 5G technology

“It is already impossible to say that radio frequencies do not cause cancer”, said David Carpenter, co-author of the international Bioinitiative report and director of the Institute of Health and Environment (New York)collaborating center of the World Health Organization (WHO), which in 2011 classified mobile phone microwaves as “possibly carcinogenic”.

Another effect would be the appearance of a third type of diabetes whose trigger would be electromagnetic pollution. “By exposing ourselves to this radiationthe functioning of the cells is altered,” said Magda Havas, professor of environmental sciences at Canada’s Toronto and Trent Universities.

Magda Havas warned that there may be a health catastrophein which the people with electromagnetic hypersensitivity could suffer stroke or heart attack by coagulation of the blood, since in it “the blood cells clump together, they do not flow freely” when they are exposed.

A 2018 French study by Professor Dominique Belpomme concludes that there is beginning to be a consensus on the increased oxidative stress generalized by exposure to electromagnetic fields, something that 80% of people with electrosensitivity records at higher rates, according to David Carpenter.

For this reason, he said, it is not necessary to focus only on tissue heating (the only effect that has consensus) because there are more biological effects “and with the G5 It will be worse”.

Great affectation in children and young people

The Mobi-Kids study, presented to the European Commission in 2017 and still unpublished, could achieve – according to Annie Sasco, former director of epidemiology at the National Institute of Health and the French Medical Research– IARC to raise the classification to Group 2A, “probably carcinogenic”, or Group 1, “carcinogenic”, because it shows a brain cancer risk for people ages 7 to 24.

What does the official investigation tell us?

Perhaps the study that has had the greatest impact in recent months has been the one carried out by the National Toxicology Program of the US National Institute for Environmental Health and Safety.

This study has found “clear evidence” of the carcinogenic effect of mobile phone emissions on laboratory mice. Specifically, the research indicates that a high exposure is related to malignant tumors in the heart (schwannomas). There is also “some evidence” of malignant brain tumors (gliomas) and of cancer in the adrenal glands.

These results have been confirmed by other investigations, such as the one carried out in the Ramazzini Institute (Italy), who has also found a relationship between microwave emissions and the malignant schwannoma of the heart and the glioma.

Another interesting epidemiological study is the French CERENAT, published in Occupational Environment Medicine, which confirms that Cell phone use, even 30 minutes a day, doubles or triples the risk of brain tumor.

Protests underway against 5G technology

Due to the deployment of 5G technology, electromagnetic pollution will increase significantly in the coming years and with it the negative effects on people’s health. Given the lack of political and social awareness of the problem, platforms supported by affected people and scientists have been organized, such as “STOP 5G”, which already has groups in 200 cities around the world.

These platforms require a moratorium on the development of 5G networks, changes in the regulations that regulate emission levels and they consider filing lawsuits against the telephone companies.
