5 types of Shadow People.

In recent decades there has been a true explosion of experiences with Shadow People. What does this phenomenon consist of? Basically in the perception of a shadow, sometimes translucent, other times opaque, with a humanoid silhouette, either full body or just the head and torso.

Of course, most Shadow People sightings are pareidolias, optical illusions due to various factors, however, it is not a new phenomenon; In fact, the Shadow People have been with us for a long time.

Now, the term Shadow People seems to evoke a single type of entities, but the truth is that these beings do not behave uniformly. There are those who have had terrifying experiences with aggressive entities, others, however, declare that Shadow People do not have the will to do harm. In fact, there is still no consensus on whether the Shadow People are evil, benevolent, or neutral. In this context, we find it interesting to try a more exhaustive classification.

Before starting with the different types of Shadow People, it is important to mention that these are not mutually exclusive classifications, that is, they are not completely independent categories. In fact, there are many traits shared among the Shadow People, and others unique; so some categories often overlap. Some entities have red eyes, others do not; some appear with a hood, others with a wide-brimmed hat or with a bare head; some are sinister, some are not. There are Shadow People capable of paralyzing you and, sometimes, attacking you; Others simply seem to acknowledge your presence before disappearing.

As a general rule, it should be noted that the vast majority of Shadow People appear to be men of great stature; others, however, are very short in stature, like children. They are usually described as compact, solid shadows, as if they were formed by some type of substance capable of interrupting light and blocking the view of the objects behind them. Another general trait is that Shadow People rarely try to communicate, but many seem to be very interested in humans.

Now, let’s move on to the 5 types of Shadow People. Later we will analyze some theories and possible explanations.

1- Bedroom guards

Bedroom Watchers are characterized by being seen standing next to the bed, or in a corner of the bedroom, especially when the person wakes up suddenly in the middle of the night. These kinds of Shadow People seem to have a sort of fascination with observing human beings, and don’t really seem to care if the person is terrified. There’s something viscerally creepy about the way it stalks

While Bedroom Watchers have no eyes or discernible facial features, they appear to be passively directing their attention to the person in bed, that is, just observing them. The majority do not behave in a threatening and/or aggressive manner, although their mere presence is terrifying. It is his appearance, and the context in which he is presented, that produces terror, not his attitude

The Bedroom Watchers do not seem to react when the person discovers that they are being watched; in fact, they can spend several minutes in the same attitude after being detected. However, there are some reports of Dorm Watchers reacting aggressively when their presence has been perceived, but in comparison these seem to be an exception to the norm.

Bedroom Watchers usually disappear suddenly, although there are cases where the disappearance is progressive, as if they merged with the surrounding shadows.

The so-called Man with the Hat belongs to this type of Shadow People. While he is a downright terrifying-looking Dormitory Watcher, he does not seem to mean any harm, and is usually accompanied by two or more shadowy figures of shorter stature, as if they were his servants. On very rare occasions, people have reported that a veritable multitude of these beings have gathered around their beds in the dark.

The Hat Man is one of the most commonly reported types of Shadow People. Witnesses describe him as a dark, faceless man in a coat and a wide-brimmed hat who he watches silently from doorways. There are not many accounts of malevolent behavior or attacks attributed to this type of Shadow People, but the Hat Man has been reported to induce feelings of foreboding, and even the inexplicable knowledge that he will appear again in the future.

That is to say, the Man with the Hat does not need to become violent to terrify you; However, some of them have no qualms about causing physical harm. There are people who have reported being beaten, choked, and even picked up and thrown by aggressive Shadow People. These beings generally don’t look much different from normal Shadow People, except for the coat and hat: they are featureless, dark entities, and fortunately, they are also the easiest to explain scientifically, since the feeling of suffocation is one of them. Common symptoms of sleep paralysis.

2- Hooded Shadow People.

Hooded Shadow People are characterized by radiating pure hatred. This type of Shadow People also has no facial features and their only distinguishing element is their hooded cloak. Like the Hat Man, there are not many reports of hooded Shadow People attacking humans directly. He prefers to stand in doorways, or next to the bed, and watch in silence

However, while the Hat Man is generally described as more curious than malicious, the hooded Shadow People are almost certainly perceived as a clear threat. Almost all the descriptions agree on the same sinister detail: an undeniable sense of seething hatred radiating from the creature.

Sometimes these types of Shadow People don’t seem to have volume. They may suddenly appear as human outlines or silhouettes on walls. Most of the time they are static, but occasionally they can detach from the walls and move around the room

3- People Red eye shadow.

These types of Shadow People appear and move quickly around the room, so much so that the person can barely catch them. You could say that they are just passing through the room, as they cross from one side to the other and disappear as if they were passing through the walls.

The attitude of this type of Shadow People has led some to consider that they are on some kind of mission, and that their intention is not to be detected. Most of the time they do not pay attention to the person observing them, but sometimes they may stop for a moment, as if surprised at having been detected.

This class of Shadow People has a distinctive feature: red eyes, whose brightness increases in intensity as fear takes over the person who is seeing it. While it’s true that they only seem to be passing through, if their gaze lands on you, you’re in trouble.

Here, again, there aren’t many reports of physical harm to humans, but the red-eyed Shadow People are so menacing that they don’t need to do much to instill terror. Their only discernible features are the glowing red orbs peeking out from their coal-black faces. According to people who claim to have encountered Red-Eyed Shadow People, their gaze causes pure terror, and the more terrified the victim becomes, the stronger their presence becomes.

4- Background visitors.

Background Visitors are a type of Shadow People that we never see at the time, but can be captured in photographs and videos. They fundamentally appear in the background of the image, like a silhouette peeking out from somewhere or a humanoid shadow on the wall.

5- Building shadows.

In general, Shadow People do not seem to have a relationship with the place where they appear, but rather with the person, whether for the purpose of study or simple interest. However, these types of Shadow People seem to be specifically associated with a location, often a house or abandoned place, that is believed to be haunted.

This type of Shadow People acts intelligently, responds to the presence of people, and can be hostile to those who disturb the place. They do not always manifest themselves with a clear human silhouette, sometimes they appear as a cloud or black vapor that moves too fast to be natural. Despite their strange, and often evasive, form, they give the unmistakable impression that they are conscious and intelligent entities. According to some accounts, these masses of black shadows are attracted to people or places that emit negative emotions.

While most Shadow People appear indoors, some accounts describe encounters in desolate areas. These figures, like their counterparts, appear to be tied to certain places, and react quickly when someone enters their domain. They have a tendency to imitate people they encounter, or even imitating their voices, like a particularly sinister echo

Some theories about Shadow People.

The Shadow People have been part of our myths and legends for a long time, but more specific descriptions of these entities are not that far off. Probably the most specific mention is Guy de Maupasant’s 1887 story The Horla (Le Horla), the details of which correspond with many Shadow People reports. Guy de Maupasant’s tale is about an aristocrat’s descent into madness, his fear of going to bed and seeing a dark presence at the periphery of his vision. Little by little, this presence becomes more and more invasive, to the point of attacking the narrator. The terror that Maupassant’s character experiences is common in many encounters with Shadow People:

Shadow People are intangible beings. If you’ve ever caught a glimpse of a silhouette or human form moving just outside your field of vision in an empty room, you may have encountered one. And if that was all you saw, you were probably lucky. No one knows exactly what these mysterious figures are or what they want, but many people claim to have seen them.

All reports describe the Shadow People as dark apparitions that appear intelligent, move with unnatural rapidity, and are capable of passing through solid objects such as doors and walls. Sometimes Shadow People just lurk around corners or peek through doors and windows without doing anything particularly disturbing, and some may not even pay attention to humans. However, other types of Shadow People are far from benign.

Many witnesses have recounted their experiences accompanied by an overwhelming feeling of dread, as if an aura of malice radiated from these creatures. Whether they are extradimensional entities, demons, or simply a symptom of various sleep disorders, there are certain types of Shadow People with common characteristics, which can tell you what to expect if you encounter one.

It is understandable that the reports of the most impressive encounters are the ones that attract the most attention, but the truth is that, in…
