5 Reasons Why People Are Always Looking For Someone Or Something More Interesting

It must have happened to you. The cable TV operator sold you a package with 150 channels, but when you turn on the remote control, no program is worth it. Suddenly, you find your favorite movie, but you remain in doubt as to whether there is something more interesting on other channels. Then keep changing channels, because maybe there’s a more interesting program. But, after spending half an hour doing this, he realizes that there was nothing better than his favorite movie and goes back to the first option. But then your favorite movie is over.

The same goes for personal relationships.

At the awesome.club we decided to find out if there is an explanation for this. Why, after all, throughout our lives do we scrutinize and review our friends and family in search of an ideal person, instead of simply taking advantage of what they offer?

A person always aspires for more, even if he has already come a long way. And all because all over the world there is the same, albeit unspoken, analogy with the Indian caste system. The more a person shows himself superior, with all his properties, the more he is recognized in society. Therefore, in one way or another, everyone tends to buy more luxury gadgets, more spacious homes, more functional furniture, more stylish clothes. Unfortunately, the same is often true of people: they make more “functional” friends, look for more powerful partners and lovers who “meet up.” And they watch the obviously more pretentious TV channels, even if their favorite movies are on another frequency.

TV, glamorous websites and bloggers affect people’s thinking; they romanticize lovers and thus infidelity is perceived as unimportant or even cool. As a result, all these concepts end up being registered by the subconscious of men and women, even the most faithful ones. Returning to the analogy of cable TV, we believe it has gone out of fashion to spend all your time “watching the same movie.”

When we let a person – a boyfriend, girlfriend, lover or anyone else – into our lives, we identify with a certain moment and certain feelings. Consequently, if the person leaves your life, you will not regret for the person, but for the valuable moments lived together.

But the fact is, people are constantly changing. Suppose a program X from the year 2017 was your favorite, but the same program X comes back in 2018 and you no longer recognize it, because there has been a change: the producers, the presenter and the content are new. So he decides to change the channel, although a year ago everything seemed perfect.

We are attracted to charismatic people, even if they are not necessarily ‘good’ people – if they are outrageous, negative and dismissive. Still based on the example of TV channels, these people are like a gossip show. You know it won’t bring you anything useful, but it’s so engaging that you can’t resist! Quiet, faithful people are like a documentary that you know you can watch for a long time and still learn something new, but you still want to change the channel because you’re drawn to the gossip show.

This is a banal human feeling resulting from confusion and uncertainty, after all, at least once in our lives we think this way. Continuing with the television channel analogy: there are still too many options and you need to see them all. Maybe your real friends are sitting in that fun cafe behind the wall. Or your true love is waiting for you around the corner. But think: why did the people who were chosen by you catch your eye?

After all, most likely, after examining these dozens of other options, you will understand that you should return to the channel with your favorite movie, because it was always the best choice for you. And here we return to the example at the beginning of this post. When he realizes he shouldn’t have changed the channel, he’ll try to go back to the movie he was watching.
