3 yoga postures to unlock emotions –

That yoga is good for posture and body elasticity, everyone already knows. But did you know that practice is also great for helping to unlock emotions and relieve your emotional?

Postgraduate in neuroscience, the emotional educator and yoga teacher carol rache explains that the body has the ability to help unblock emotions and calm the mind. “There are postures that activate exactly the point that can promote the flow of emotions,” she explains. “When you train your muscles, they become bigger and stronger. When you practice yoga, your brain cells create new connections and the physical structure of the brain is modified. Yoga strengthens the part of the brain linked to presence, focus, memory and awareness.”

According to the expert, Eastern sciences consider that the cardiac energy center, located in the center of the chest, is what governs emotions and feelings. “Hence, postures that require opening and stimulation of this region are suggested to release trapped emotions,” she continues. “The chest opening postures also stimulate the famous Thymus gland, considered the ‘happiness gland’, which also favors mood regulation and, consequently, emotional cleansing”.

In other words, in addition to taking care of your body, you take care of the mind and emotions. But, for that, it is necessary to invest in the positions that collaborate for this work. The teacher’s recommendation is that postures be included in the practice of yoga on days when you feel distressed, anxious or sad – and it is also important to focus on the intention to release trapped emotions.

A posture less intense than that of the camel, when well executed, also projects the center of the chest forward and facilitates emotional exchange. A great option to unblock emotions on days of light practice or when the body is still cold.
