In 1998, Natalia Oreiro was cast in a soap opera called Casablanca, which spoke about the fate of a poor girl, who worked as a waitress. The script did not have good repercussions and, after 20 chapters, the project was canceled before it was even shown on television. But the actress was full of ideas and decided to get in touch with the famous screenwriter Enrique Torres. Together they wrote the story entitled Muñeca Brava, which could be translated as “resistant fist”. The novel was titled worldwide as wild angel 🇧🇷Wild Angel🇧🇷

In addition to the younger actors, there was also the old guard, especially the “best Argentine grandma”, Lydia Lamaison: a charismatic actress, who at that time turned 84 and was loved by everyone on the film set. Very lively, she collected hats, loved to dance salsa and celebrated each workday with a glass of champagne.

It was originally intended for the main character to be just a child from a wealthy family, who had been switched at birth. Natalia, however, insisted that Mili must be an orphan. She found the swap baby theme too outdated and repetitive.

The actress believed that Milagros (Mili) must have known that her mother was still alive. But the director insisted otherwise. This mystery was not unraveled for the character and was revealed to the viewer only in the last episode.

Pablo’s character was conceived to be the big villain, who should have kidnapped Mili. However, the concept changed a little and they decided to put Pilar as the big villain, who ends up kidnapping Ivo in the last chapter.

You could see that when changing scenes, the look of the characters could also change quickly. This mainly concerns hairstyles. Lina’s (Victoria Onetto) hair color could change when she went from bedroom to living room, for example: from a reddish orange to red. Upon entering the house, Vicky (Veronica Vieyra) went from big curls to simpler curls. Gloria (Gabriela Sari) was talking to Lina with one hairstyle and—a minute later—talking to Mili with another.

During the recordings, many taxi drivers refused to take Natalia Oreiro. During breaks, the actress took soccer lessons. And, of course, she left the set in the same clothes as her character, as she didn’t have time to change: cap, ripped jeans, sneakers. Therefore, many confused her with some street beggar.

In the story of Marina and Pablo there were many inconsistencies. Just two months after the separation (they hadn’t even mentioned the pregnancy yet), Marina was already showing Pablo their four-month-old children.

In the middle of the plot, the audience did not immediately understand why the millionaire Di Carlo moved to a more modest house and why the scenes in the office ended. Initially, 290 episodes were supposed to be filmed, but due to the financial crisis, the budget had to be cut. For this reason, the producers gave up some scenarios and plots, such as, for example, the couple Vicky and Rocky, who ended up moving.

One of Milagros’ biggest rivals in the novel is the maid Martha. She constantly created intrigue and gossip. In real life, actress Valeria Lorca (Martha) was one of Natalia Oreiro’s best friends and continues to be to this day.

Actress Victoria Onetto (Lina) and Mariana Arias (Andrea) are also great friends in real life. In the telenovela, they played antagonistic characters, who hated each other.

The romance between Natalia and Facundo never existed in real life, despite being the dream of many fans. The relationship between them is just a friendship of many years, both in daily life and in the professional environment.

At that time, Natalia was dating actor Pablo Echarri. In one of the episodes, when Milagros was going to meet a stranger, she told her friends: “I hope he is as nice as Pablo Echarri”.

The actress and singer Isabel Macedo — during the recordings — was dating actor Facundo Arana (Ivo). She was jealous of the relationship her lover had with Natalia. Facundo then convinced the director to give her a small role in the telenovela so that she would see that there was no romance between him and Natalia — only friendship and professionalism. That’s how the character of the personal trainer and friend of Victoria Di Carlo. And the audience fell in love with the beautiful girl.

Many supporting actors also gained popularity after the soap opera, which allowed them to land more desirable roles in the future. Some of the most successful careers were those of Veronica Vieyra, Victoria Onetto, Gabriela Sari and Pablo Novak.

Some actors have already passed away: Lydia Lamaison, Arturo Maly, Norberto Díaz. And the death of Osvaldo Guidi, unfortunately, was associated with the stagnation of the actor’s artistic career.
