1. The construction of Christ the Redeemer, late 1920s

The statue that is one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World was designed by Brazilian Heitor da Silva Costa in collaboration with French sculptor Paul Landowski. The business card of Brazil and symbol of the wonderful city was proposed by a French priest to Princess Isabel as a way of paying homage to Jesus Christ. However, the idea was only taken up again in the celebrations of the centenary of the Independence of Brazil, in the beginning of the 1920s. In the photograph above, the Chapéu de Sol do Corcovado is in evidence, a monument that used to be where the Christ the Redeemer stands today. The statue is still one of the most visited tourist attractions in the country.

The lyrics of the song that make up the production have an appeal to do something for the less favored, in addition to addressing themes such as misery and poverty.

6. Tram through the bay of Itapagipe, 1897

In 1895, the trams that until then were pulled by mules and operated in the coastal city of Salvador, began to have their system electrified. At the time, the province was a processing center for tobacco, coffee and cocoa. After 2 years, with the lines and plans put into circulation and the construction fully ready for use, on June 6, 1897, the first electric tram in Brazil finally came into operation.

Although the plan to transfer the capital from Rio de Janeiro to the interior of Brazil was old, it was only during the government of Juscelino Kubitschek that the project was put into practice, and the choice was made through a public tender. Therefore, the winning plan was that of Lúcio Costa (on the right in the photo), an architect from Rio de Janeiro who designed the capital with Oscar Niemeyer (on the left), responsible for the construction of the buildings.

On April 21, 1960, in the midst of much to be done, Brasília was inaugurated around a great party. Later, the place would house the other political bodies that would definitively form the new Brazilian capital. The project became one of the greatest achievements of the architect Niemeyer, who, consecrated, built the greatest symbol of Brasilia.
