There are so many different essential oils available on the market today that it’s hard to choose the scents that we like best.
But each oil has different and unique properties, and it is also important that we select essential oils not only for their pleasant smells, but also for their benefits. Besides, there are so many ways to use it that we have no idea!
When you hold an essential oil bottle, you are literally holding the purest essence of a plant and its benefits. O awesome.club will show you the most diverse ways to use these wonders of nature in the best way.
1. To treat injuries
Arnica oil is known to increase blood circulation and can help with bruising, swelling and inflammation. You can use it directly on the site of injury or swelling, or you can dilute it in a bathtub and take a shower. But do not forget that arnica should be used with caution. And it should never be ingested!
2. Headache relief
To relieve a headache, mix 2 drops of peppermint, 1 drop of eucalyptus and 1 drop of lavender oil for every 6 drops of carrier oil (or base oil). Give quick massages behind the ears and behind the neck with the mixture, in addition to the forehead and under the nose.
3. Mosquito repellent
Use cedarwood, citronella, and clove oil to keep mosquitoes away. Use the oils in diffusers or mix with coconut oil, let it harden a little and apply to the skin.
4. To purify your home
You can replace cleaning products with eucalyptus or tea tree essential oils. These oils are known to have excellent disinfectant properties.
It is important to remember that oils are not water soluble, so simply mixing them with water will not work. The way to make an effective cleaning solution is to first dissolve the oil in alcohol, then add vinegar and water.
5. To make the skin smoother
Essential oils are great to use for skin care. The best choices are lavender, jojoba, geranium, and rosehip. For usual skin care use, add oil drops into the base oil. Apply the solution on your face for 10 to 15 minutes, then wash your face thoroughly. For daily use, add this mixture to your cream.
6. To eliminate the odor of garbage cans
7. Hair treatment
Mix a few drops of jojoba, ginger, rose hips, lavender, rosemary and thyme in a base oil, place on the hair even at the roots, let it act for 30 minutes. Then wash it well. Just perform this procedure twice a month to get amazing results!
8. Decreases tension
You can relieve tension by massaging drops of lavender oil under your ear, just behind your jaw, into your temples and into the tight muscles in your neck.
9. To make the refrigerator smell more refreshing
10. Bathroom cleaning
11. To get rid of stubborn stains
If you can’t get rid of blemishes, try lemon oil. It works exceptionally well on wax, grease, gum or glue stains. But be aware that lemon oil is very acidic and can damage tissue or irritate the skin.
12. Your pillows smell delicious
Refresh your pillows with geranium, lavender, lemon or mint oil. Simply add the oil to the baking soda, spray it on the pillow or cushion, let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes, then vacuum it up.
13. Perfume bath towels
Sprinkle drops of your favorite oil onto a cloth and place it with your clean towels to give off a nice, delicate scent.
14. To relax
Need a hot, relaxing and renewing bath? Add chamomile, lavender or jasmine oil to your bath water and feel the difference that the essences provide.
15. To stay connected
If you are very tired but need to be fully awake, rosemary oil can be your best ally. Use it in a diffuser or place a few drops on a cloth. It might also be a good idea to also put it in a bottle in your car if you have to drive for a long time and feel very tired.
16. Tired feet
Our feet are often sore and tired at the end of a long day at work or school. Soothe them by putting drops of peppermint essential oil in an Epsom salt foot bath.
It’s very relaxing!
17. Boosts your immune system
Oregano oil is known for its ability to strengthen the immune system. Simply rub it on the bottom of your feet.
18. Detoxifies your body
Detox your body by soaking in a hot tub with Epsom salt and rosemary and juniper berry oils.
19. To relax the muscles
Mix 30 ml of oil of wintergreen and 1 ml of peppermint oil with half a cup of alcohol (preferably 70%). Then apply over the stiffened muscle area. Do not use the mixture immediately after exercising while the muscles are still warm, as this will be painful.
20. Air conditioning
Refresh your air conditioner with a cotton ball with drops of your favorite oil in front of the air vent.
Bonus
Regrettably, there are many fake essential oils on the market, so beware. Some dishonest brands dilute legitimate essential oils with cheap cooking oils to lower the cost. The good news is that there is a way to check this. Place a drop of pure oil on an absorbent towel or kitchen paper and leave for a few hours.
If it is 100% pure, it will evaporate without leaving any greasy residue. Please note that this test is only applicable for essential oils, not other types such as infused or fixed. Arnica oil is an example of an infused oil, just as jojoba oil is a lump. Try to know the origin of what you are buying, so you can enjoy the benefits of products from manufacturers committed to good quality.
Do you usually use essential oils? Which ones are your favorites and what do you use them for? Share your experiences with us in the comments!
