Hi! My name is Karina, and I’ve always dreamed of having a dog. When I turned 10 and my sister turned four, we finally got a puppy! He was the nicest dog in the world: affectionate, smart, calm and very patient – he took food from people’s hands gently. All the kids in the neighborhood loved him for letting them play with them. Our dog was a crossbreed: his mother was a mix of boxer and pit bull, and his father was an american staffordshire terrier (also known as amstaff🇧🇷🇧🇷 Although the pup was born from a “moody” cross, he was the kindest, most intelligent gentleman in the canine world (he’s pictured in the first picture below).
A dog’s mental health, character and balanced temperament do not depend on its size, and I believe that many readers of the awesome.club agree with me. I’ve seen dozens of angry and nervous small dogs, capable of making your hair stand on end and sending chills down your spine. But, for some reason, they are loved by everyone and even manage to charm with their hideous smile, while pit bulls and amstaffs have a reputation for being violent dogs, and anyone who doesn’t know these breeds very well is convinced of the following:
1. Pit bulls and amstaffs do not tolerate being pampered
2. It’s scary just looking at them
3. The pit bull doesn’t like kittens…
4. …or other dogs, especially small ones
5. They are devoid of elegance
6. Get extremely irritable when bothered
7. They don’t know what love is…
8. …nor affection
9. They like to show guests who owns the house
10. They are the opposite of Yorkshires because they won’t let you dress them in clothes
11. It is always necessary to be attentive with them
12. Amstaffs and pit bulls are impossible to train
13. Have no patience
14. Use an extraordinary tactic when attacking
15. They are as smart as their boxer brothers
16. Amstaffs are always on guard and never sleep
17. If you decide to adopt such a dog, remember that your house will be full of hair
18. They will look at you like you are their prey
19. Don’t wait for pity, as they are able to manipulate with just one look…
20. …and a smirk…
21. …because “anger” is its second name
What stereotypes have you heard about different dog breeds and yours? pet in particular? Comment!
